This is quite odd - why isnt there a misc folder?

With the sheer volume of fan translated anime/manga out there there's no way you can cover all the popular series using this rotation system.

It seems odd to me that a manga forum only allows for the more mainstream (hehe mainstream within a special interest group) series.

How can i start discussions about a new series and gain peoples interest in it if i have to wait untill it's popular so that i can talk about it

(i am aware that i am infact making the same point as i made previosly - but i realised how slow this forum was getting lately. Also this is the last time i'll mention the misc folder unless someone asks about it :) )

    EDIT: yay bleach section

I'd assume, if you meant Miscellaneous Anime as far as a Miscellaneous forum goes, then that is what the "Anime" forum, alone, is for.

And I'm not quite sure what you mean by "a manga forum only allows for a more mainstream series"... though some anime and manga series just aren't cut out for their own forums (like, Hell, I'd love a Gungrave Forum, though I know, even with two games and a new series, it won't last ;P), and thus is where the Anime forum comes into play for us to post about anime. I'm sure there were series posted in both the Anime and Manga forums as threads before they were popular and got people talking about them and such. You don't really have the obligation to try and snag someone's interest in an anime series because, well, they may not like it. ;P (Like people trying to get me into crap like Golden Boy and Initial D and Utena)... a-a-a-a-a-anyways... yeah... all I can think of. x_x

You simply have to do like everyone else, go to the Anime or Manga Forum and hit the "New Thread" button.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Tokyo Mew Mew forum.

For starters it's already proved that quite a few members are fans, (usually of the younger population) whether they've seen subs or read the manga. Not only that but with the dubbed anime coming to TVs in 2005 (according to 4Kids. They're not putting it on the foxbox till aroudn January) interest is bound to be increased. Heck, just seeing the threads about it being dubbed and stuff have already piqued interest. (like it did with me. I went to get the manga after I heard about it being dubbed and fell simply in love).
It's also a great and funny story, with great characters and many things to discuss. (the characters, the puns in the names, the powers of the characters, the eh...lingerie costumes o_O, if Tart's a boy or a girl, the A la mode series and the two games, heck, even endangered species as that is the main theme behind it! And of course, 4Kids scary dubbing and that preview they gave over the summer.)
And above all it is an interesting series with cute characters. ^^

Like people are going to check every single forum devoted to an anime because they may be interested in Happy Cheerleader Fantastic Voyage Battle Droid or some other completely unknown show. In reality you'd only get one or two people talking about it even if its got a forum, or even well known (example: Excel Saga forum). A thread will suffice for that.

Sorry people i was having problems with my browser recently and for some reason the new thread button would not appear before - so i've been working on the assumption that the only way to put a thread in the section is to have it put there by a mod

I am an idiot pay me no heed

These are just two changes to two differnt Forums. The first of these is more of a name change. The Outlaw Star/Angel Links should be Outlaw Star Universe since those are not the only series in that Universe. The name I think it should be called is Outlaw Star Universe since Outlaw Star is technicly a spin-off of Future Retro Hero Story.

    -----
Edit: I have deleted the other two ideas and since I have agreed with Iamtoo...plzhelp that not everyone knows who makes what like GONZO and Tomino so those are gone but the other one has been changed.

The only one of those suggestions I agree with is the first. The latter two I have objected to on several occaisions, and those who need to know, can clearly see why.

But yeah, I see no reason not to rename the Outlaw Star forum. Go right ahead with that, if you like.

"Morning Who?" is the response that not a few people would make, I think. Including myself. It's the first time I've heard that name. I think keeping it to respective universes is enough. Like "Outlaw Star Universe" "Slayers Universe" and the like. That way we keep it relatively simple, and people know what needs to be posted where, without needing some guide or list to know which series goes where. I, for one, barely know of any anime creators. I know Akahori Satoru, of course, and CLAMP, Akamatsu Ken, maybe one or two others, but I haven't a clue about the larger portion of them. I think it's just too complicated for a lot of people if we organize the boards that way.

I would disagree with that. First according to ANN Morning Star was only involved with OS itself but not with Angel Links. Second Retro Future Hero Story and Outlaw Star 2 are only manga. Therefore my alternate suggestion will be Takehito Ito works.

I dunno, I really hate the idea of organizing by creator. I can't understand what other people see in it, either. I think it's that to people who already know, it makes a lot of sense, that's my guess, but to those who don't, it's simply confusion. Last Exile and Hellsing have nothing to do with each other, so why put them in the same forum?

I'm all for organizing by universe, like we've done with Slayers, where Lost Universe and Slayers are both pertinent, and part of the same timeline/world, and we could do it with Outlaw Star as well. Outlaw Star Universe, covering OS, OS 2, AL, and Second Retro Future Hero Story, would make more sense to me, since they're all related to each other, but something like Gonzo Digimation, as I've stated, gets far too confusing for those who don't know about them.

They say the simplest solution is often the best. Well, let's keep it simple and easy to understand, for all. The more abstract we make the forum titles, the harder it is to know what belongs there, and the harder it will be for people to make their posts. People come to BJP to talk about a series, not to wonder where they're suppsosed to make a post.

I would much rather say Outlaw Star Universe. It makes more sense than Takehito Ito works as it would only slightly broaden the forum to the past Future Retro Hero Story and any future expansion in the universe. In reality I had to look up morning star when Cloud brought it up. The only reason I suggested converting Gundam to Tomino was to bring some life to it since there has not been a single post since March.

    School rumble please!

Please add a school rumble section!

It's getting more popular, the manga's still going on, there are many interesting characters (enough for a lot of fanfics and romantic fantasies to wonder about), there are two seasons already, there are lots of youtube clips, and it's HIGH SCHOOL!!! :catgirl:
