    Not quite sure I follow...

    As I understand it, Yahiko looks upon Kenshin as his role model, and as such strives to be as strong as Kenshin is. This is noted early on, as Yahiko initially decides that Kaoru's training is inferior (until Kenshin tells him otherwise).

    Coming from a previously honorable family (his father was a retainer to the previous Shogun), and now on his own, Yahiko still tries to live on with the honor the Myojin family name once had. In his eyes, becoming a powerful fighter will do this.

    So, I don't think he actually means to be better than Kenshin - rather that he wants to be more like him...

    -It's all fun and games until a rampaging BakaMattSu destroys half your city...

    I'd say BakaMatt knows from watching all of Kenshin, or most of it.

    he doesnt want to be stronger than Kenshin .,.,.he wants to be strong as Kenshin
    He wants to be independent and not helpless as kenshin

    I have seen all the OVAs, none o' the movies, and the first 56 eps of Kenshin...as well as the first couple volumes of the original manga...

    BakaMattSu, but he WILL see more...OH YES, HE WILL!

    Well .. for me I have seen the 8 first eps so far, parts 23-27 from the eps the movie with shugiru (or what ever his name is) the part 1&3 in the OVA ... I hope to see more ~_~ ..

    Hmmm...

    Well, in episode 62 Yahiko and Sano decide to try to surpass Saitoh Hajime. Sanosuke does this so he could defeat his rival(Saitoh). And Yahiko wants to surpass Saitoh so he can be a great warrior like Kenshin.
