Why don't we add a 'Member of the Month' award?
(Or another period of time)

Even we can make many others awards released periodically
The member who wins the best award can also have a distinctive graphic or symbol in his profile and/or his posts.

 

Or we could do "categories" like spammiest, nicest, meanest, most intelligent and so on a few times a year?

 

I think this idea would work better. The Monthly idea would be too time consuming. I mean, you vote a guy and as soon as thats done you quickly move to the next one. Categories are indeed a good idea, however a year-long vote for "User of the Year" would be good too.

This is many users simply don't stick around that long. I'm in favour of 2-3 times a year.

 

That's why I said it. And you are right, I'm in favour twice a year, this is enough time to enjoy your award.

Ah, and votes should be accepted at like 3/4 of the period

 

Sounds good to me. Now, if we can just get the same statement from Cloud...

*continues on in this vein for several minutes, before someone shakes him out of it, to recieve odd looks from everyone*

Hmm, each Admin, Mod and previous winners (Think Nobel) could propose an unique candidate. The top 10 candidates go to the final votation (BJP Members). A thread would be created for votation. It'll include a poll.

1. It's the easiest and fast way to start this
2. Why a thread? Imagine PMing Admins for 'I vote for 7ed1md0!' 'I vote for 'n00b' etc.
3. Spam? Don't worry, only valuable posts are allowed. I mean, it's a 'only vote please' thread. Mods can easily control this, I think

Also a submenu can be added to the 'Stats' menu with the Top 10 awards
A graphic can be added to the visible profile to the left of the posts

Why only 'Best Hosted Forum Mod?', we are members too, you know.

I think it's a great idea overall; as an alternative to making a thread, the votes could be submitted through private message to a seperate account, and a few of the staff could go through the votes and such.

 

Well, as you can see, my original idea was to make it only 'Best Mod', but I know someones who'd like it the other way for some silly reasons.
Anyway I prefer 'Best Mod'

Hmm, I think this special count will need at least 1000 stored messages max

 

I think the BJP Awards would be awesome.

Including those previously mentioned, I think they should be:

Best Gallery/Art

And as the big Award, possibly; User of the Season? (spaced well dont you think? 4 a year.)


Every season New awards could be handed out for all categories as well. (Winter awards. . Spring awards. . .etc.)

I thought Worst No0b or something would be kind of mean and might make them leave BJP. *shrugs* or am I being to soft?

 

Well, think, a votation each four months

No0bs would try to do their best, I think. Who does not care, receives this 'award'

 

I like twice a year thing would be best. It could get to much. I think there should be rules. I could still be considered a noob. Maybe those who have been here for a year are not noobs that way we would be able to split the cateorgories.

Like I kinda mentioned before, its my opinion that we should really stay away from negative awards.
