    Well, you could say I was really, REALLY bored, or you could say I wanted an excuse to download a bunch of SNES music. :p

    Whichever the case, I was picking theme songs for the higher-profile members around BJP. I picked about 25 or so of the people I know really well. I also picked a couple for myself. :catgirl:

    I'm pretty sure this is legal, but if it's against the rules, feel free to shoot it down. ^^;;

    Here's the songs I picked, as a preview of sorts:

    Username - Game of Origin - Song Title

    BakaMattSu - Der Langrisser - Ally 2
    Baphijmm - Lagoon - Reach For The Sky
    Basher - Romancing SaGa 3 - Ruin of the Crystal
    Bloodberry - Der Langrisser - Imelda
    Ciel - Terranigma - Elle
    Cloud - Romancing SaGa 3 - Tower of the Godly King
    Eternal-Blaze - Tales of Phantasia - Open Fire
    Fushigi Rockna - Lufia II - Battle 1
    Izzy - Chrono Trigger - Bike Chase
    Jaken - Lagoon - Run to the Hill of the Phantom
    Jedimdo - Terranigma - Royd
    Kagome's Arrow - Chrono Trigger - Schala's Theme
    Kaiyon - Lagoon - Tales from the Peaceful World
    KaMeKaZi - Romancing Saga 3 - Operation: Pet Retrieval
    Luvweaver - Lagoon - Valley
    Nephilim_X - Lagoon - Prince of Darkness
    Ragnarok - Lagoon - Master of Water
    SaberJ2X - Der Langrisser - Opening 2
    Seishin - Der Langrisser - Aniki
    Shen - Der Langrisser - Leon
    Shijin - Romancing SaGa 3 - Evil Does Not Cherish
    Shinigami-Sama - Der Langrisser - Eggbert
    Shinryu (old me) - Lufia II - The Prophet
    Teddz - Der Langrisser - Ally Backup 2
    That Guy! - Romancing SaGa 3 - Magical Tank Battle
    Wing_Goddess - Chrono Trigger - Guardia Millenial Fair
    Zanza - Terranigma - Fyda

    Also included are a couple songs for usernames I use elsewhere, where I tend to have a different attitude:

    Firefox - Lufia II - Final Battle
    Saint Ebony - Chrono Trigger - Battle With Magus

    Now, for those of you worried about huge files, don't worry, they're all nice and tiny SPC files, 65 K each. The ZIP file is only about 1 meg.

    You'll need Winamp and the SNESamp plugin to play them.

    ...Since I'm not sure if it's ok to post the files themselves, I'll leave you with just this preview until a mod says it's ok. If you can't wait, PM me and I'll send you a link to the ZIP file.

    I'm not on the list. :(

    Ohwell. I went through a website with a very extensive library of songs from games, but only found about ten of the song from your list. I have seen a definite match up with the songs that I heard and the people I know. I've always been thinking about a theme song for myself but not anytime recently so I kinda forgot what conclusions I've come to and I also change in personality very quickly. Why don't you find one for me and see if it matches the one I choose for myself?

    I actually just forgot to write yours in the list. ^^;;

    I stuck it in, you're "Open Fire" from Tales of Phantasia. :p

    And there may be more to come before I actually post the link. These are just people I'm a bit more familiar with.

    Awww...I always thought I was more of the "Wild Arms - Opening Theme" kinda person. Or at least, Setzer's Theme from FFVI.

    I guess I'm a "mutated bike/man" kinda guy instead. I like "bike theme/Johnny's theme" too, however! Fast and...erm...rockin'.

    I totally agree with the goodness of SPC music. Although you can also use SNESamp to play SPC files on winamp itself too! Find it here! For those people who can't stand the thought of opening up ZNES just to play music!

    As far as links...I'd say they're okay. They're not *exactly* the "original" OST. They might be the OST "dumbed" down into SPC form. I know most of Nobuo's work and the Terranigma work is like that.

    *cough*Zophar's Domain*cough* has a great many SPC files.*cough*cough*hack*cough*cough*

    lol

    Well, I was drawing from a small pool of games. I downloaded over 400 songs, and they were just the soundtracks to 5 or 6 as it was. I wasn't about to get every song from every game ever. :p

    Plus I was sticking to SNES music so I could get nice, tiny SPC files. Setzer's theme, though... Iunno, I liked the fast tempo of Bike Chase, and it seemed to suit you.

    SPC is awesome, simply because it's MP3 quality, *and* small size. None of mine are over 65K in filesize. No MP3 can match that.

    You might want to get that bike thing looked at though. :p

    EDIT: Here's the ZIP file, then: http://www.shoujo-anime.net/BJPThemesongs.zip

    I love having my own domain :3

    One more post before sleepin'.

    They're 16-bit files. They sound great because the SPC files you chose pushed the limits of 16-bit music. Listen to the *arranged* version of some of the FFVI and Terranigma stuff, and you'll hear a CLEAR difference.

    So, unless an MP3 you've downloaded is actually saved as a 16-bit MP3...then...whatever. =]

    Just pointing something out. No hard feelings, flaccid or otherwise. >_>

    All in all, it took me a couple hours. Since it was just listening to music I was able to do other things at the same time, so it wasn't too bad. :p

    I picked yours, becase it had that certain feeling. It seemed elegant and sophisticated, yet cold as ice. It seemed to suit quite well.

    Had never heard my tune before. I always placed myself more along the lines of "Final Fantasy VI - Gogo" though... ^^

    Still, this thread was an interesting diversion!

    Eh. My song didn't really give me any sort of rush. It just felt kinda there.

    Umm... in the second wave? ^^;;
    Ally 2 was always one of my favorite songs, it's like, pure awesomeness. ;)

    Still, I probably could have picked a better one. ^^;;
    Yeah, I was kinda reaching with yours a bit. I was debating using it or "Four Noble Devils" from Romancing SaGa 3.

    If enough people are interested, I might just pick out a couple more, and maybe do some re-runs for you guys who weren't entirely happy. ^^

    I'm glad you all like the idea, though! :)

    That would explain why it would calm me. Heh.

    It was a neat thing to do. I liked mine. You wouldn't have to change it unless you wanted too.

    And I only just now encounter this thread. ^^;

    I do like the song you picked for me, but I don't know how you came to that conclusion. Not criticizing, just curious. As much as I love music and get certain feelings from it, I'm terrible at finding characteristics in sound unless it's specifically pointed out to me. :eek:

    Also, if it has something to do with a particular point in the game, I've not played any of these except Chrono Trigger, and even that was such a long time ago that I might as well have never played it, so I have nothing to go on there. ^^;

    So am I, actually. It was more of a gut reaction than anything else. I listened to the song and it just seemed to suit. I couldn't explain why it does, it just seems to be more "you" than any other song I have. It's weird, really, how I did that. :p

    Also at this point the main character is climbing upward toward the clouds, so he can cross them and reach Lagoon Castle. Really a fitting name :p

    Bah. I don't think mine suits me that much. A better chocie would've been Arche's Theme from Tales of Phantasia. :D

    But you and I talked about that already. XD

    Yah, I was reeally reaching when I picked yours. I wasn't too happy with it either.

    I think I'll start on a second batch before long, I'll post it when it's ready.
