What have you heard? Their albums are excellent. They combine Egyptian instrumentation with blistering technical metal. Try getting a hold of an album then come back and comment. One or two songs really won't do it.

to avoid spamming on my first time back in forever, i'll ask what are some good songs to download by them? and, perhaps, maybe you should just send them to me, or something.

@ Annovachan: Find the album "In Their Darkened Shrines" and listen to it.

By the way how many death metal albums have you heard in total? You don't seem to know very much about it...So instead of trying to sound like an elitist and thinking you know everything listen to some of the music before you make comments about them.

Good job, n00b. I said that like, a page ago. And, you posted like, three times until then. Did it take you the whole of like, three weeks to come up with that?

And yes, I don't know very much about Black Metal. So...I technically can't be an 'elitist' when I don't find myself above and beyond what I actually am. It's not like you consistently need to remind me that you know more about music than me.

Words like N00b are weak and don't hurt anyone. Having your first paragraph dedicated to insulting me doesn't help your case for an argument either. It's good that you admit you know nothing proving you are not the elitist I thought you were. I never said you were an elitist in the first place, I said you try to act like one so technically your information is wrong. I don't remind you I know more either, I just tell you what I know and I will correct you if you are wrong. You still haven't answered my initial question though. The reason why I am like this is because you come off like you think you know what you are talking about. I'm trying to help, not be spiteful.

Because Bob/Dr. Nick isn't going to reply to this, because maybe he doesn't have anything to say or something, and since no one else can really join this arguement, I'm going to say that we should just go back to our afore-stated topic, which I believe was Nile. I also claim that the winner is Meshuggah. Fu fu.

erm, um, since I haven't heard Nile, I can't comment....
    but...
I have been listening to some deal of Dimmu Borgir lately...that and A Peferct Circle (SHUT UP! I know it's not death.black metal!) but, it's always a rewarding experience.

A Perfect Circle isnt that bad actually. I seemed to have taken some what of a liking to them. They are sorta borderline metal, close to like a heavy rock. But I like them. yeah, but not black/death metal.

A perfect Circle has one album left on their contract (release in November) and then are probably going to quit being a band. It's a shame but it'll probably happen. Luckly Maynard can now focus on getting a Tool album out faster. I can't wait for the Lateralus tour DVD. Oh yeah...APC has a dvd out now!

    Slayer*
    Judas Priest
Black Sabbath* (suposidly the last time they ever play o_o)

    Devil Driver*
    God for Bid
    Unearth
    Everytime I die
    Lacuna Coil*
    Atreyu*
    Darkest Hour
    Otep
    Throw Down
    Magna Fi
    Lamb of God*
    Hate Breed*
Slipnot (probably playing their new crap tho)

I'd love to see Slayer and Priest. My ideal line up for an Ozzfest would be...

    Main Stage

    Black Sabbath
    Emperor (disband)
    Slayer
    Iron Maiden
    Meshuggah

    Second Stage

    Mayhem
    Darkthrone
    Tool
    Cryptopsy
    Nile
    Lamb of God
    Thrice
    Between The Buried and Me
    Fantomas
    The Dillinger Escape Plan

    This would never happen though...

My friend just got me listening to some new bands. (well new to me anyway) Anyone else every heard of um or like um? I think they are all really awesome.

Decapitated (Death Metal, Kind of reminded me of a Meshuggah-ish sound)

Satyricon (Death Metal, I like this one the most out of the three, I really like their song Fuel for Hatred)

Vehemence (Black Metal, Kind of a Mix of Cradle Of Filth and Lamb of God or the Kovenant?)

If you guys havnt heard of um or any of their music, I really suggest you too. Judging from what most of you listen to, I'm sure you will like these groups.

I've been meaning to get my hands on some Satyricon....but I thought I read somewhere that it was Black Metal.

Oh yeah, this thread needed to be bumped now that my account works again.

    So...what else to talk about.

How 'bout that new Meshuggah album?

Yeah, that album is good, not as good as Nothing, though (or so I think).

And I should probably get my hands on some more Bathory, considering I only have one album....I am seriously lacking in black metal.

I think that Lamb of God is pretty good, I've only heard a handful of songs off the new album.
