what kind of pc's do yall use when you surf m2a. if this has been asked before, then dont worry and just let me know

 

I use ibm, my dad works there, so i get it 4 free!-YAY

 

I am using right now a DELL. Dude your getting a dell. I love that saying.

dvd 12X


nothing too spectacular, but nothing too shabby either

 

windows 98?

i Have two Os's Windows Xp and Windows 98. My Primary hard drive is 40gbs, split between the Os's... Other specs are

Secondary hard drive - 80gbs (120gbs in all)
Creative Soundblaster live! v. 1.0.22
576kbps ADSL broadband
Direct X 9.0a
8x cd speed (or is it 10x)

whats wrong with win98. thats what i run. i like it. it loads faster than my friends pc's with xp and my dads pc, he runs xp as well. i also find it easiest to use as well. probably because im most familair with it. but still...

 

it's just.. soo..old, and unstable, and buggy.. and it just plain smells

the only decent version of windows is win2k

windows 2000? thats worse than... well thats the worst os in my opinion.

and no i dont know if they hae 6 engines in them but i'm making a point

 

i never felt that 2000 was that stable. i just didnt like it as an os period... so if that makes me an enemy of yours than so be it.

 

Windows XP is so many times better than Windows 98 that it's not even funny.

The key though, is that you *must* have at least 256 megs of ram to run WinXP at full speed. Once you have the ram to overbalance the OS overload, it runs everything faster and manages the ram a hundred times better than 98. Below 256 megs, the OS can't juggle itself and the programs you're running.

Win2k is ok if you're not a gamer, but XP is better if you play games at all.

thats the thing though, you need 256 or better. what if people dont have that much ram. like me, i ran out of recources when i built this machine. i just never liked 2000, xp is alrite, but i dont really use it. ill probably buy it when i get money, but i still am most familair with 98

 

well if you have less than 256 yer gona have a lot of trouble running a lot of programs well, and espeically newer games.
so in that case, win 98 is fine cos there's so few programs you can run that there's no stability issue

also..

I bought it, actually... along with Macromedia Studio and MS Office XP.

They're all good software, IMO, so I supported 'em.
