What's YOUR internet connection? List the one you use to connect to m2a most frequently, or if you have multiple connections to the same place, choose the highest that applies.

I don't exactly see how 768 Kbps is "bad"...but that's what I have. If I coulda convinced the parentals to get the 1.5 mbps...then I would be so much happier! :D

Izzy: My cable service is 5024kbps downstream, 128kbps upstream cap though. Most cable services are either at 5meg or 1meg connection, thus 'Good' and 'Bad'... It's not the most technical term I know, but it's accurate enough ;)

Sadly, like most Irish people, I'm restricted to a 56k modem at home... ADSL and Cable is either not available in most areas, or way too expensive... :(
At least my college has a decent connection that I can use to download bigger things... The college connection is probably an E3 (the european version of T3, slightly faster) I recon.

With my cache cleared on my cable it takes.. *prepares to time*

All of half of a second.

    Slightly less with cached content.

And people ask me why I whine when I am forced to use dialup...

cable myself, loads fine and makes me very happy. *^-^*
going back to dial up hurts, but with a period of 2 months, it can be accomplished...with loads of reminising still tho...
and my best experience with a T1 server? well....sleeping on it...those server cases(about 12 feet tall or so i'd say this one was) make for the most comfy things to lean against and take a nap...the cold of the room was even ignored...(my dad work as the main computer guy in one of the hospitals here...i was in the computer room<right next door to the now former morge> with him and was bored...that room is kept at about 55 to 60 F...so it isn't freezing, but it sure isn't waarm..)

Check your local cable provider to ask about cable. Basically, if you can get cable TV, you can get cable modem. For T1, I know AT&T provides one. Something like 400 a month though. I was trying to convince my mom to put that up as a business expense, but she wouldn't listen. Woulda worked too. *sigh*

I'm currently using ADSL doing 576kbps per sec, it's good enough for anyone really. Does the downloads nicely, flows with online games, loads websites in a click. Yah! it does the stuff... my sorta stuff
