"Yasashisa wa kanashimi e tsuzuku tobira"

    Yasashisa - kindness
    Kanashimi - sadness
    Tsuzuku - to continue
Tobira - I want to say it's something about flying, but I haven't learned the "-ira" form... if there is one. XD

So: "Kindness continues to fly to sadness."

I am probably horribly wrong. XD Again, I don't know who said it or what episode it was said in.

Well, I was hoping to leave my count at this until there was something really special to post in, but oh, well. I'll go ahead and make my 1000th post.

Thanks, Gata-san, for translating my quote. It's certainly more than I could do. No idea as to who said it? Or when? Well, good luck on that, anyway.

Although, it's Jedimdo's turn. Can you offer any insight on his quote? :p

Sou ka, saki no arede computer ga ikaritanda.

We know it was Bloodberry speaking, but when did she say it, and what did she say? I'm certain that it was spoken in Program 10 or 11, as you can read above.

I'll get out my DVD and check in a bit. Watch this post for my answer.

I finally hit 1000 posts! 4 digits! Whoo-hoo! (Imagine a beautiful fireworks display at this point, 'cause I'm too lazy to go look for one on Google. :p)

[EDIT] For the sake of this thread, I give up. :p

I knew I was overdue for a rewatch, but this confirms it. I know it's Lime who said it, but I can't remember, for the life of me, when.

I think it translates to "What about it?" but I highly doubt that I'm right.

[EDIT] I think I figured it out. I can't remember which episode it was, but it was in a prologue, where Cherry and Bloodberry were talking about how the Shogun's memories were in Tamasaburou. The subtitles say "What's wrong with it?"

Lime was asking what was so bad about the Shogun having the body of a marionette. Yeah, I remember it well, now. :p There was a 'ne' right before it. :p

    'Ne, nandedamenano?'

[2ND EDIT] Program 17? Wow, I need to rewatch...

Also, when I saw your new avatar, I thought you were Shen for a minute. it was like: "Shen posted here? What the...? Oh, it's Jedimdo."

You're getting closer to the final answer. Remember, you need to explain the translation (This way we learn more, don't we?)

[EDIT]Um, what does mean your title? 'tasogareno??'

Remember who you're talking to. I only knew the translation because I remembered the subtitles. But, you know, it's interesting. Lime kept asking what was wrong with Shogun Ieyasu having the body of a marionette, but Cherry and Bloodberry were so wrapped up in talking about Otaru becoming Shogun that they didn't answer her, or even notice her. Hehe.

I'm not sure what you're asking me to explain, though.

Nifty translated my title to "Samurai of dusk," but I put Twilight Samurai into Babelfish. Either sounds pretty cool, if I do say so myself. I had it in English as "Twilight Ronin" for a couple hours, 'till I looked it up. Although 'Ronin' sounds cool, I don't think I'd want to be one.

Heheh, not only that question she didn't understand, but everything that both Cherry and Bloodberry said. :p She's cute
Just separate it, and explain what each thing is. I don't think it's going to be difficult. Just a few google searchs ;)

I'm still pretty lost. It's been memory, not knowledge, that lets me solve your quotes. But I'll try...

    Nandedamenano?

    Nande dame na no?

...And here I get lost. I have literally 0 knowledge of the workings of the Japanese language. I know a phrase here or there, but nothing good enough to help me explain this. Google's pretty much proven useless to me, also.

...Sorry for sounding so defeatist, I'm not in the best mood right now.

[EDIT] Oh, it was my turn. :p I'm really inattentive. -.-

    Ok... Umm... let's try...

    Kyoumoujaponessbarekazae

Going purely by phonetics here, so the quote might be a bit off. It's the best I could do, in any case.

    I think it's like this...

    Kyou mo Japoness bare kazae

Also today Japoness something something :p

Actually the reason for this post is to clear one of the pics you posted, the colored one [post=204689]Here[/post]

I just realized that it's too silly. Obviously, it's a marionette, from SMJ to X. It's one of Hess' marionettes, the turtle or bug one. See the opening of the series.

I could be a bit off with that quote. That was the closest I could get. I'd check it, but look over there <---. Do you see the section "Currently Watching?" Yeah.

Anyway, you're right so far. It was said several times, so, if I get a chance, I'll check one of the other times it was said.

[EDIT] About the pic, you're technically right, it is Genbu, but, truthfully, I was asking who was reflected in it. Unfortunately, it looks like I deleted that screenshot, and I don't think I have another copy. I can't exactly take another right now, either.

Hmm... that could be... I wonder why it looks so much like Junior, though.

And my quote? I'm pretty sure it's accurate.

Maybe I messed up on that quote a little bit. It's not like he was saying it slowly and carefully, right? :p

And, nah. I don't have a quote right now. I may edit this post later, unless someone else jumps in with a phrase.

    [EDIT] 1400 posts!

It seems familiar, but I can't quite place it. Was it from one of the songs? Or was it an actual statement?

    /me is 2 weeks behind rewatching... ;_;

    *picks up his Japanese dictionary*

    Mode Set: Studious

If I separate them into words, it'd be:

"Watashi ha sutto koko ni iru kara"

    Correct?

    Then...

It must be something along the lines of "I will always be there" Or "I'm always here." Something of the like?

Very close. Still missing one word to translate. But remember that it is not only translating, but also posting who said it, when, etc.

I know. I don't have any guesses as to who it is yet.

One word left? I looked up every word I didn't know, and I can't quite place it.

And I'm really lost on the rest, too. For some reason, I just can't think of who or when it was said.

Ok, I'll say it. In this case kara means because. What's wrong? Out of energy?

    Any other hints?

Yeah, kinda. I just can't really think, right now. I think I'm going to have to give this one up.

But I think it was said either by Bloodberry or Bloodberry-R, dunno when.

Ok, since I gave up on MSN, I've got a new quote, even though it should be your turn. It's pretty easy.

    "Watashi... otoko...yadda..."

I'm doing this from memory, so it might be a bit off.

The best thing I can do now is to translate it:
    Me... man... yadda..

I suspect she's Lime. She always says 'boku', though.
