Square Enix Final Fantasy Dissidia for PSP

    As part of their 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy, it looks like Square-Enix is releasing another game for the PSP, Final Fantasy Dissidia. This will come alongside with Final Fantasy Tactics, remakes of FF1 and FF2, and FF7 Crisis Core for the system.

    From what I can see the game includes Zidane and Kuja from Final Fantasy 9. Rumor is that it will include characters from every FF game. Has anyone heard other news about it?

    First I've heard of it. Sounds like a recipe for one of two things - a masterpiece, or a disaster.

    Squenix has had their share of experience with crafting a story around many others with Kingdom Hearts. I wonder if Dissidia is a similar vein?

    I think if we made a chart with "number of Final Fantasies per year", it would go from about 1 every 2-3 years in 1987 through something like eight in a single year in 2007-8. If they'd stop trying to milk their past successes...

    Too bad this one is gonna be on PSP- if it were on the PS2 I might consider it. I guess that's just old hat nowadays though, what with that new-fangled PS3 out and stumbling. >.>

    Almost looks like them from first glance, but no.

    The one on the right is Chaos (FFI). The one on the right is a new character, Cosmos. They are billed as the gods of light and darkness in Dissida.

    It's a "dramatic progressive action" action game.

    Sounds a little from wiki like a FF version of Square's older hit, SaGa Frontier. (you had to play through 8 different characters and their unique stories)

    While it sounding like SaGa Frontier excites me a little, I can't look forward to it at all. Simply because I am sick of square making nothing but Final Fantasy and Enix titles. What happened to the days when they had variety? They're just a one trick pony now. Shame.

    · Final Fantasy - Warrior of Light, Garland

    I believe each game includes only one main character, and one main villian. I think Cloud is on the list already also...

    I'm very excited that they included Kefka because I feel that FF6 doesn't get enough love.
    One from each sounds about right but I wonder who else they'll put in from FF6 since there is no set main character like there is in FF7 or FF8 ect.
    Gah, I can't wait for this game!!

    I want to believe that this won't suck as bad as Ehrgeiz. The current Character list from Wiki is as follows (Hero and Villian, in that order):

    FF I: Hero of Light; Garland
    FF II: Firion; The Emperor
    FF III: Onion Knight; Cloud of Darkness
    FF IV: Cecil Harvey; Golbez
    FF V: Bartz Klauser; Exdeath
