I have to say I love the top one! I like the way you colored it, I always liked the dramatic color changes

Heavy COS inspiration, I love it. Sexehseacow makes the artist in all of us happy. :3

What tools do you use to generate the colors and inky feel?

Only thing I intentionally do as cos is the speech bubbles with pics in them, what else do you relate to him?
    : o

Just using standard brushes in ps and jumping between "darken"/"lighten" modes, oh and marked certain areas (shirt, e.g.) and changed colour entirely with some..random PS tool ... just got it working again after working in corel painter for some 6 months, heh.

The water color and the blending of the colors, as well as the general 'texture' and your use of shading reminds me of the ye 'ol COS. :3

    Good shiz

I like your contrast between your heavy shading and the highlights. The intermediate tone is *almost* nonexistent and it comes off really cool. Has a very "dark" look to it. "Dark" as in atmosphere, not as in coloration... though, well, I guess it is dark in color too :p
