    Hi All,

I hope this is the right place to post this but basically I don't know where else to try.

I have been trying to translate an inscription on a sword I picked up many years ago. As I don't even know what country the script originates from I was hoping somebody may recognize it and be able to point me in the right direction to getting it translated.

Fell free to move this to a more suitable forum.

I'm sorry of cannot be so I useful for you.
The remark of me the following hopes and I hope for a useful thing to you as information.

    I am Japanese.
I think that it is a character that cannot be read in a Japanese general modern people at least.
I cannot read at least at all.

I do not judgment (understand) whether this is a sword of Japan.
And, the judgment cannot be passed even whether it is a Chinese character at all.
And, whether it is a Chinese character of the Chinese character of China or Japan even if it is assumed that this is a Chinese character, is not understood at all.
Moreover, it is a character (language) of the what country where is not understood at all.

I thought that specialist and scholar's opinions might be needed.

    *Chinese character=kanji=漢字
