Celebrations I'm getting married

Well its official, I'm getting married.

I asked my long time girlfriend Sharon to marry me, got her a beautiful ring, and we've set a date. Come June 20, 2009 I will be a married man. Now that's just weird. We're going today to finalize our plans for the reception hall.

Thankfully, she wants to go and register for gifts with her girlfriends so I'm totally out of that detail. Yes!

Just wanted to tell you guys.

Marriage takes everything you love and sucks it away.

Those kisses you enjoy so much...kiss them goodbye.

Sex? Forget about it!

Kids? Perpare for a headache, having no money, and letting little creatures leech off you for the next 18+ years of their lives.

Divorce? Say hello to spousal support, if you have children, Child support...having her take the house, the cars and the dog!

Of course you can argue it

"she's not like that, my wife won't turn into a ball busting *****"

"My girl would never take me for all I was worth,"

"Love will see us through!"

But man I'll be the one to tell you the truth... If something goes wrong...she will turn on you....

GET A PRE-NUP!!!! No matter how little you have now.

And if it's fair and she says no... if she says "If you loved me you wouldn't ask me to sign this."

She doesn't love you.

American laws are not in a mans favor. Do what ever you can to protect yourself and don't let the system break you.

But if you do happen to remain in that 50% of marriages that don't fail. More power to you mate. Congratulations.

 

Nothing. Sure I could have just given a pat on the back and a "Congratulations mate!"...but honestly...after those first two or three years... eck.

 

Regardless of Noodz position, I find it hard to believe that anime goons ever get married. How dare you laugh in the face of social stigmatism and not only find a girl, but stay with her long enough to get married. Terminal geeks everywhere are appalled at your senseless behavior. Somewhere, some little scrawny kid sitting in his room is crying now. That's right, crying! All because of you... or possibly a computer crash. It doesn't matter, tsk tsk!

Gratz brother. Rememebr that relationships are two way streets. If you two don't take care of one another then you're doomed to failure. My best advice to you- don't take anything to bed with you. If you get into fights and such, don't sleep on it, it only makes things worse. Take my word for it.
