    COMMENTS, CRITICISMS, FLAMES ARE WELCOME!

So, I got a new camera a few weeks back, and I've been using it almost non-stop. Took out some pictures that I thought were interesting. So, yeah.

Some of the ones that I thought were interesting, anyway. :D

No means a "small" Digi BB. It's a prosumer camera. The lens sucks, quite frankly. But I wanted to play with something until I got used to the camera. My next lens will PROBABLY be this $1200 wonder:

    Wow nice sexy camera.

I got a small 7.1 megapixels nothing like that but still fun to play with.

Also the pictures are great many have awesome contrast. The shots with the rain are great. I also enjoyed the sky. I found the shots of people interesting.

    Ya got some skillz.

Oh nice you got a EOS30D :D - man those cameras are the sex. I am thinking about ordering the 40D though. Although, I am a college student, money doesn't grow on trees for me...

Very sexy. Reminds me of home (So Cal). I like the Honda logo as well. It looks like something professional out of an ad.

    ...and of course Alcohol.

I refused to let anyone eat the cake, since it was the awesomest thing I ever got for a birthday, EVER. :D It was moldy -- the hairspray treatment didn't do it any good. :( It was three tiered, and the bottom was broken, so we picked only on that layer.

So...I ended up with this lens for a few days ($1800!!, glad it's rented!):

And I decided to play around for a bit. It's quite heavy, so a lot of shots are pretty bad -- I was shooting only from my arm (no tripod) so I only took the pictures that came out good looking.

Anyway, I went to lots of places that day, but it was all good fun! :D

BTW, my arm was DEATHLY sore the next day. Well, not really, but hell was it tired! The lens by ITSELF probably weighs 5 pounds. Couple that with no tripod and 100+ shots, and I got a workout!

I could see you having a lot of fun with a great camera.

If I had a camera like that....

I like the pictures of the outside. I like the Buddhist statutes. The railing also had something special to me. The cell phone is an interesting shot. All the others are good also but to me some stood out more.

Scenery is nice, but I was constrained. The lens was zoomed in TOO much, so a lot of detail surrounding the outcrops in the lake were cut off. Ah well. I can almost guarantee a new picture of Buddha Bill with every new lens I try out -- it's a nice piece to film, and it's distance from the backwall allows me to critique the bokeh of the lens.

Yeah Bash, I had ginormous fun with the lens/camera. I took it to my sis' high school Volleyball game. I looked like such a stalker!

BB, I'm sure you have scenery in Dakota! C'mon! I will admit though, the scenery was only a mile up from my house.

Guys, I think this is the big hobby now. My car -- has taken a major backseat to this. Maybe I can make this a paying hobby....

Picked up a Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 LD Di-II today, and here are some samples! Decently sharp wide open, but gets uber-sexy at 6.3. Quite an inexpensive lens for the quality pictures at only 400-ish dollars!

Optimus here is the only one that's been touched up. The rest are (should be, anyway) completely stock from the camera.

Wow you must be having a lot of fun with your camera. The pictures have such clarity.

Do you just shoot what you want?

Most times, yeah. I really do need to stop messing around with it, and take some GOOD photos. But, I usually have my camera and I just shoot stuff.

The random assortment above is actually me testing my lens. I wanted to see the focal distance (10" minimum) and to see what kind of Depth of Field (as evidenced by Optimus, where only his abs of steel are in focus, while the other parts of the photo especially the background are super blurred) I can get at different stops. Color, clarity, and vignetting also figure into the tests.

...This has officially become an obsession, Bash. I promise though, I'll only put good PHOTOS up instead of the snapshots like I've been taking. Of course, my buddha will also be included very often. I love that guy! I have some pretty fun ones from Chuck E. Cheese's from a few days ago with my old lens.
