I believe all forms of hobbies are worth it.

I have so many which would be called a waste but to me they are not.

I actually really like your work. You get amazing angles and lighting, which is a plus since nowadays people are prone to myspace shots and what have you.

need to get a good camera one day. i finally got a little $200 kodak for carrying around in my bag and use, as opposed to me cell phone. which is horrible. =p laptop first, then camera. =3 cause you know, like i NEED to save money. >.> (though i think a house beats both of those 2 atm)

Yeah, he's the other photographer. The better one. But, it was his birthday. He has a pathological hate of Nikons, so I wrote, "Nikon Rulz" on the back of his hand.

Anyway, I was at a huuuuuuuuuuge Honda meet at Eibach in Corona, CA. So, here's pics with the new lens:

Sad thing is, I may have to return this lens. It's a nice lens, but I feel it limits my Depth of Field photography (which I like doing) because I have to compensate for the longer zoom than the 24-70mm f2.8L. Also, the 24-105 has a constant aperture of f4, which also makes DOF harder to acheive. I would have been shooting at f3.2 all day, if I had the 24-70mm. Two of my friends have the 24-70, and I know their pictures have the blurrier background, as well as slightly better colors for the inside shots, since they get a wider aperture. :(

But, the good thing is, Adorama's pretty cool about returns, so I may just exchange one for the other.

I just realized that a bulk of the pictures I took are of S2000's. :D Maybe that's a sign it's time to upgrade the car.

    5. Izzy, you're going to have to explain to me why a yellow car with blue tape on it is the new hotness...

Okay, here's the long winded explanation:
    1. Instead of ugly car bras which can actually harm paint due to being loose enough to have dirt go under the material, tuner people like to use Painter's tape. This means he's either OCD about his paint, or he came from a far place. We had people from Las Vegas (the white Civic with "ouch" on his bumper) to Northern California (a green NSX with carbon-kevlar interior that I didn't picture because whenever I tried, they were detailing it again). Anyway, the reasoning for this is:
    a) This leaves no gap between the oh-so-precious paint and the tape itself, so no dirt gets trapped in between.
    b) Painter's tape leaves very little residue, even on the delicate clearcoat of the car. A microfiber towel and some quick detail spray, and it's as good as coming in from a car wash.
    2. This actually emulates the Spoon colors. Spoon is a very big and well known tuner company, particularly with high-strung Hondas. The colors are obviously not exactly the same, but they are similar enough that the connection may have been completely obvious.

    3. I'd like to think he was also a cool enough guy to actually go to this huge meet, and he kept his Painter's tape on so that people can write on it. He actually left a couple of markers -- two or three of which were stolen, by the way -- so that people can write comments on the tape. You can barely see them on my pictures, but some of the closeups my friend got with a 10-22mm actually were quite funny.

And the shirt my buddy Mikey has on was from the Weenie Roast he attended the day before. Lucky jerk gotta see Flogging Molly. :(

Okay, time for something different. Well, not different, as it's probably been done by about 100000123098214892138 people since it's the Fourth of July.

    But, teaser pic!

Nah, it came out killer. How fast was your shutter speed? Some of those shots made it look like you let it stay open for a few bursts.

I was at the Angels game that night and saw thier fireworks. Not a bad show. They destroyed Toronto.

Depends, I fiddled from 16 seconds down to 4. I was usually happier with the 4-6 seconds, as too much light came through the lens to get when it was slower than that.

I love those squiggly fireworks though. They burst like normal, then they squiggle around randomly. I got some major Macross/Robotech missile flashbacks. Hah!
