Right, thanks. My skills have really fallen off, if I can't even remember plurals properly.

This time, I will outline a simple conversation which uses several questions I've mentioned. I am using the informal verb forms. Followed by a pronunciation guide, and the translation.

Roberto: Hola. Me llamo Roberto. ¿Como te llamas?
Oh-la. May yah-mo ro-bear-to. ¿Co-mo te yah-mas?
Hello. My name is Roberto. What is your name?
María: Me llamo María. ¿Como estas?
Me yah-mo Ma-ria. ¿Co-mo est-as?
My name is Maria. How are you?
Roberto: Regular. ¿Y tú?
Re-goo-lahr. ¿Y tú?
Regular. And you?
María: Bién. Soy de Colombía. ¿Y tú?
Be-en. Soy de Co-lom-bi-a. ¿Ee too?
Good. I'm from Columbia. And you?
Roberto: Soy de España.
Soy de Es-pah-nya.
I'm from Spain.

It's a very simple conversation, and not one likely to occur in real life, but it should prove helpful, I think. If anyone has any corrections for it, please feel free to let us know. More of these, which include pronunciation and translation will be helpful.

 

Here's a 'wrong' translation :
Tengan en cuenta que el inglés es pronunciado diferente al español, así que algunas palabras suenan raro.

Spanish doesn't use so much capitalization, so Spanish and English are correct. Keep in mind that everyone here is not a native english speaker, even japanese is more similar to Spanish than English.

Another dialog:
jedimdo: Buenas tardes Cereza, acabo de llegar de la universidad. Cómo estás?
Cereza: Oh mi señor jedimdo! Bienvenido a casa. ¿Quieres un poco de sushi? ¿o tal vez...? ¿o tal vez...? (Entra en modo trance-romántico)
jedimdo: Ejem, Cereza..., ¿Hay nuevos posts en boards.jp?
Cereza: No mi señor jedimdo, pero...
BRUUUuuummmmm!!!!
(Hanagata cae desde el cielo, rompe el techo y cae en el piso)
Cereza:Aaahhh! ¿Que haces aquí?
Hanagata: E....
¿Continuará?

Ah, and Spanish uses double question marks.

And jedimdo, you should have put acabar in past tense. (If you did, I'm sorry for my error) And, I'll overlook this, because it's quite possible, in fact, quite certain you made the whole thing up, like I made up the last conversation.

Are you sure it should say "or tal vez...?" I'm pretty sure that it was correct when it was just "o tal vez...?"

And forgive my mistake. As I have said, my skills have declined. I'm getting better again, since I'm using it more, but still, I'm not as good as I once was.

Next, the Spanish alphabet, I can't remember the pronunciations, but here's the letters. Again, feel free to correct any mistakes.

I have just read through the whole thread and found it all very interesting.

Just thought I'd drop in with this info!

If any of you would like to brush up on your Spanish or learn to speak Spanish there is a great new website that teaches people to speak another language. At the moment there are only 2 languages and they are English and Spanish. There are many different languages that this site can be translated into though. With more languages coming in the future. It is an audio site that also gives the written words and pictures where need be.
