    Okay.... let's try this again... we're gonna try to talk to each other in Japanese... I know there are a few of you who speak really well, but let's try to keep it simple for now. ;)

    Just an idea...

    Why don't you give a translation with what you say? That way us folk that have absolutely NO idea what your saying might get one, thus...er... widening our japanese-understanding skills! Like a quasi-let's-pretend-to-be-learning-japanese-over-the-net course? Eh?....:D ?

    ii = good
    dunno what iken means...
    da ne = isn't it (or similar), but i can't be sure since i don't know the previous word.

    So, shall we begin?

    Koncha...no idea what it means.

    I am Kaori (to iu is what?), but i know it's a presentation.
    Nice to meet you. I am a anime and manga (kyoumi is what?).
    The rest is that she's studying something which i can't make out...

    No idea...

    Hey, thanks kirei, that's more than I knew :D

    Perhaps "iken" means idea?

    What exactly is hajimema-? (ie. hajimemashouka and hajimemashite) A prefix nicety or something?

    hajimemashouka as written here can be seperated into three words:
    hajime (begin) mashou (let's prefix) ka (question particle)

    I have no idea how you got that, but hot is "atsui."
    So, "it's rather warm isn't it?" would be "chotto atsui desu ne?"

    Watashi wa Kirei na kimyou desu. Dozo yurushiku!

    ahaha ^^;; sorry about that....Kirei got most of it right though:

    hm..ii iken da ne ^^

    hm..its a good idea.

    ja, hajimemashouka?

    well, why dont we start?

    koncha, atashi ha Kaori to iu.

    koncha = slang for konnichiwa...u can also use "chiwa" but its very very slang..^^;; I am Kaori (to iu: to iimasu..or "i am called")

    hajimemashite.

    Nice to meet you (literally: this is the first time we've met)

    Atashi ha anime to manga no kyoumi ga aru kedo isshoukenmei ni benkyou shite kara yoku shinainda.

    I am interested (kyoumi) in anime and manga, but because i study (isshoukenmei = excessively; passionately...etc) very very very hard, i dont have much time to do it. (yoku = often)

    ja, korekara yoroshiku, ne!

    well, from now on, please take care of me (literally)

    I'm learning Japanese! Heres some things to say:

    Watashi is a.. how can I say this, it means something is yours. For example:

    Watashi wa= I
    Watashi No= my
    Watashi Ni= me
    Watashi no mono= mine

    Kore wa Ed des.

    ("This is Ed." Say this when your introducing someone! Now, to break it down for you:

    Kore= This
    Wa= (conjunction)
    Ed= name...
    des= is

    I could go on forever! But really, the best way to learn is to stay in Japan for a lengthy amount of time, then you can eventully naturally learn the language. Oh, here how to count to 10:

    Ichi 1
    Ni 2
    San 3
    Shi 4
    Go 5
    Roku 6
    Shichi 7
    Hachi 8
    Kyu 9
    Juu 10

    One thing, Kaori...Imasu reminds me of iru. But iu...? Never heard of that one...

    And Yasuko, mono means "thing."
    And another way to say seven is nana. I don't know which one would prefer, but...in some manga I've watche,d they actually say nana, hehe...

    Oh and, watashi is I. The meaning will of course change if you add a particle. Watashi no is "mine," since no indicates ownership. Watashi ni? I can't find a reason to use nor a trasnlation unless you are going somewhere.

    Sonna! Mite, mina-san! Are wa kire na kimyou desu! Hayaku, nigete!
