    yeah, the crap about merry and pippin mad me mad too...that's why i loved them...and well...pippin wasn't tall enough,...he was more a cross between hobbit and man...<shrug> what can ya do tho? remember, romance wasn't in the book either but it snuck in cause there's 3 ppl out there that want it...all i know is, they better kill striker off like the book did...or then i'll be real mad...(sorry if that spoiled anything...hell, i ruined the next movie when i laughed at a guy for thinking gandolf was dead...and then said, he can't die that easily...sigh)

    -Read the Book it was very moving though.

    but I did the same thing BBerry, after SpiderMan. people were upset Peter turned MJ away, I just blurted out that Peter marries MaryJane later anyways duh... I'm so cruel!


    Anyways, I thought Peter Jackson did such a well job for such a tremendous feat as the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I know he really cared for Tolkien's work, and that means a lot.

    guys.. I was wondering. the dvd is comning out soon, but I heard that there is a special edition director's cut with more footage on it coming out in October. is this true?

    august 6 for the normal and special edition...november is the uber special 5 disc set...there's a lot of stuff with it...and in theory, when ever they send them out, you can a poster with it...i think those ship the 28th or something tho...<shrigs>

    <sigh> gonna get both....that's gonna hurt...the normal is about $30 american, and the uber is around $60...on sale....ow...but so worth it...

    LOTR 2 leak

    yes it's true. The Two Towers has been leaked and is available in the wired.

    I didn't believe it, but then I found this clip of the battle at Helm's Deep

    The camera work is amazing this time around, and I can imagine the sound will win some awards too

    If Gangs of New York does bad, then the Two Towers will probably get best picture. I'm sure it will be great.

    Well, only 3 of Tolkien's books are being made into films at the moment(although it is actualy 6 books, 3 parts, 1 story), those being the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy. The filming for all 3 films was done at once, and all that needs to be done is editing, sound, special effects, and all that post production work. But like Seraphim said, they're being released once a year, at christmas.
    So you are pretty much right, EB.
