MSNM New Virus

    A friend of mine that I didn't spoke to in a long time suddenly said this.. the curious I am, I clicked on the link that opened a window if I wish to save the file or open it. I discovered that this was a virus somehow..

    An another friend of mine just got infected by this.. so if you see this from a friend of yours let them know if they don't (I am not sure if I got infected or not, if you saw this coming from me please tell me :p).


    By the way, I call this the "lol-look-at-this" virus. :p
    (or is it a trojan??)

    It's a Virus. Let's just say I had Guinea (thank you Shinryu for helping me type that correctly) Pig tested on it..Don't worry, nobody real, i tested it on my old-old-old computer. Let's just say that after getting infected, the computer went to umm...computer world?(the computer place for heaven i guess...)

    I am not sure about the "stop" part, just be careful when you get that "lol-look-at-this" message followed by a link that has your email :)

    Messenger gave me a pop-up every time I tried to talk to someboy, then the program closed automatically (making it impossible for you to use it). Internet explorer is preety much just "shot dead", since when you try to open it, it will never open, no matter how many times you click on it. The other programs just work like sumpreme crap, and the loading times seem like eternities. So preety much, the computer's dead.....

    And yes, it is dead, since I lost the reqired disks to literally "reset" the computer completly. But give it a break, the PC's like 8 years old....

    Have you noticed that "pj34r1ng.us" sounds like "fearing us"? It's leet (l33t, 1337) man. An obvious creation of a hacker.

    Up to the end of the second sentence, that sounded like it was pretty good. :rolleyes:

    Anyway, if you care about that computer, (I probably wouldn't), then yeah, reformatting is still possible. I only had to do it once (Right after I got my computer, because it wouldn't start up), and I can't remember how to do it. I could try it on my old computer, but it's still got files on it that I want. :p

    well, there's always a format via fdisc, or a really really strong magnet will do it too.

    I clicked on the link, but the page was dead/forbidden anyways. She told me after, that she didn't send it, must have been one of those viruses. Of course, I got another one before from another user, but it was more obvious that it wasn't him.

    This is the reason why I prefer AIM / ICQ more than MSN. Sure, there are bots that act as russian women, but still. Bots or viruses?

    Oh, and the format issue. del root C:\ anyone? :p
    Just put in your windows cd, boot, and you're done. Easy enough!

    Watch out people, we've got a super bitter 1337 haxx0r on our hands!

    Never mind that not everyone has the time to familiarize themselves with an entirely different operating system as well as attempt to hunt down programs they need...

    This virus is pretty old, people. I haven't even seen the "lure" messages lately.
