    How long does a post have to be dormant before we're not allowed to post in it?

    You can post in it as much as u want
    it doesnt become dormant.

    Of course It would be weird posting in a thread that hasnt been posted in in 1-2 years

    There is no current official ruling, although common sense applies. There's no reason to revive a birthday thread from two months ago, and it's probably also better to create a new "Cheese Wheel" thread if the last time cheese wheels were talked about was 2002.
