Anime Perfect Blue

    Seen this the other day.
    gets abit wierd past the middle but tiz fairly good all the same.
    Is it me or is this the first anime flick in history to be set in the present day, and tackle a real world issue?

    Not at all - lots of anime is set in rougly present day, it's just that very little of that makes it over here. There's even some very good recent-history anime - check out Grave of the Fireflies if you ever get a chance, an incredibly depressing and emotional but utterly brilliant movie about Japan towards the end of WWII.
