While printing any document, sometimes it stops for no reason. Or sometimes I accedently remove the cable and the printing stops, but never resumes no matter what I try. I cant cancel it either.

This is causing me trouble, because there are other more important documents that I want to print, and I cant do that unless I restart the Laptop.

Any other solution rather than restarting? :/

cancel any left documents in the printer queue (the little printer in the taskbar)
    (ever tried pressing resume? :p)

    start > run > services.msc

look for print spooler, click STOP, then click START

    hopefully that will do

Why are you removing your cable in the middle of the printing process? Any idea why it simply quits printing halfway through the document?

    Clear out old jobs
    1. Open the Printer folder by following the steps below.
    o For Windows XP:
    1. Click Start.
    2. Click Control Panel.
    3. Click Printers and Other Hardware or Printers and Faxes.
NOTE: If you have the Printers and Faxes option in this screen, skip to step five, if not, continue to the next step.
    4. Click Printers and Faxes.
    5. Select View Installed Printers.
    2. Double-click the Printer to open the print queue.
    3. Click Printer in the menu. This will stop all printing to the printer.
    4. Select Pause Printing if it is not already selected.
    5. Click Printer again and select Purge Print Documents or Cancel All Documents, then click Yes to confirm the action.
    6. If there are any documents left in the queue, un-pause the print queue by clicking Printer then Pause Printing to resume printing.
    7. Click Printer again, then Cancel All Documents or Purge Print Documents.
    8. If there are still documents in the queue, restart the computer.
    9. Once the computer has restarted, check the print queue to insure that it is clear. In some instances the queue will still not be clear. Most commonly this happens in Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. If this is the case, stop, then restart the printer services by following the steps below.
    o For Windows XP:
    1. Click Start and then Control Panel.
    2. Select Performance and Maintenance.
    3. Select Administrative Tools.
    4. Select Services.
    5. Select Print Spooler to open the properties window.
    6. Click Stop to stop the service. Once the service is stopped click Start to restart the service.
    7. Click OK to close the Print Spooler Properties window.
    8. Once the service has restarted, click the Close button to close the services window.
    9. Close the Control Panel by clicking the X in the upper right corner.

    Few things to check.

Make sure you have the right HP printer software installed. Look on your printer. It does happen sometimes.

Check for updates. Windows or for your printer.

Check cables. Make sure they are attached or see if there is anything wrong with them.

Reinstall printer software. www.hp.com Look at your printer.

That’s what I do. Hope this helps some.

It's pressing the reset button, but in a oddly, aggressive way o_O

hope you got it working again Zanza! I got printer problems too, a new HP colour laser printer.. I tried sending a colour file through the router, it's connected through two computers that way, it printed plain white sheets with no ink then cried the picture was too complex, suddenly HP shows us our ink levels, the yello and magenta both went down to 13%.. we've only printed 4 colour pages in total.. it's going back to Staples. aye...

And no, sadly I don't know why it stops in the middle of printing a document :/

(p.s. yes, I'll allways call you saber no matter how many times you change that nick of yours! :p)
