Sailor Moon Fanart - Art Blazes A New Trail!

So today I tried my hand at some fan art. I had done my share of anime-face-doodling back in the day but never really tried to draw a whole person. Everytime I did the proportions were all off and they ended up looking like some kinda wierd science experiment gone wrong.

So I tried today and did a wireframe sketch first, working on the proportions especially the hip/shoulders ratio and the arm/legs length. Once I had a wireframe that I liked I added a little meat and a Sailor Fuku (of course) and bingo!

I'm honestly kind of surprised on how much less it sucked than I expected. Don't get me wrong its by no means perfect or even a finished product, but this gave me hope that maybe I could develop this. Now all I have to do is practice!
