name some commercials that you just can't stand here.
list them by numbers if you have more than one.

    1. Barbie my scene dolls( just soo stupid)
    2. Barbie happy family( even more stupid. the music for that commercial even sucks)
    3. McCain Golden Crisps.(stupid beyond belif)

i will post more of the ones i hate later.
    can't think of them now.
    have fun with this.

There's a lot of commercials that I have to say were in all likelihood NOT done by anyone with any education in marketing.

    1. McDonalds "I'm lovin' it" campaign ... I hate all the ads.
    2. The new Diet Pepsi commercial, where the guy wants his old van back. The Flock of Seagulls hair was much better.
    3. Any commercials YTV makes to advertise its shows. Don't just say this is because I'm old ... I've thought these ads were stupid since I was in like grade 5 and "The Zone" was just starting to stink up my cable.
    4. Commercials networks make to advertise themselves. Seriously, I already know I'm watching Spike TV, the "first network for men". I turned the station on in the first place. I don't need you telling me every two minutes. That goes double for you, TBS.
    5. Commercials by networks to advertise their affiliates, like when Much Music advertises CityTV, and vice versa.
    6. Mazda commercials with that soooooooooooooooo tiresome Zoom Zoom song.
    7. Commercials for CDs. Does anyone else remember when an album could generate enough buzz on its own, just through radio play and music news, to sell itself, and it didn't need commercials to convince people to buy it?
    8. Those really long Candian Tire commercials that take up at least three commercial slots. Commercials aren't supposed to be so long that I get bored and channel surf, only to come back and see the same commercial playing.
    9. The ones against satellite signal theft Rogers runs on CABLE. Seriously, if I was stealing satellite signals, I wouldn't be watching a cable channel, and wouldn't see the ad.
    10. The ads from Rogers and Bell Expressview, and just about every other television service provider, assuring us that their service is the best and that we should switch service to them. It's kind of funny that they both state the same cases against eachother, like high prices and loss of signal. Of course, if you have Rogers cable, losing your signal isn't really losing much of anything, because the only channels you get are crap.
    11. Commercials for digital cable channels.

That's my blacklist. I'll add more later, since I'll inevitably be watching TV this week ... stupid small town with nothing to do ...

Well, anything that's been run into the ground is automatically bad - particularly mascots. This goes for anything with Ronald McDonald and other fast food chain characters (though their adult-oriented commercials are hardly better e_e), all kids' cereal characters, etc. Companies should learn that ideas like the Geico Gecko and Taco Bell's talking chihuahua (which seems to be gone now, thankfully) are only innovative and amusing for, say, the first one to three commercials.

Beyond that, there's this particular local commercial that's been pissing me off lately. It's for a car dealership/repair place - Paul Blanco's or something like that. The commercial is basically a green-and-orange screen with various overlayed images of cars, plus cheap, plastic-looking, crappy CG characters with big heads, who I think are supposed to be representations of the owner's kids. >_< They sound like they've both got some kind of speech impediment. The commercial is ugly, long, stupid, and it's been playing with maddening frequency for the last few weeks. *shudders*

    Lingerie or ads for women's undergarments also irritate me. They're basically soft porn - so WHY is it OK to show that, but they censor so much of the actual programming and movies that come on? -_-;

Those really annoying Burger Kings commercials where the guy is like "I'm SPICY!"

Also, the Gap Clothes (dancing? singing?) and Old Navy (cheesy) commercials.

Don't even get me started on stupid commercials.

    1. The pregnent Barbie commercials. The first time I saw that, I gazed on
    in horror.

    2. Hooked on phoix commercials. People arn't going to admit that they have
    a reading problem.

    3. This commercial hasn't been on in years (thank God) but that 6 pack abbs
    commercial.

4.Cable and Dish adds. THEY BOTH DISS EACH OTHER! WHICH ONE IS
    REALLY BETTER???

    5. (Last one) Movie commercials that either give the whole movie away, or
come out a year before the movie does.

You're complaining about lingerie ads, and yet you admit to collecting yaoi doujinshi ... back where I come from, we call that hypocrisy.

Anyway, just so I'm not spamming, I'll talk a bit more about advertising.
The reason mascots get overused forever and ever is that they cost a significant portion of a marketing budget to create. I mean, you need designers/animators/whatever else to actually make the character, then an actor to play them in the commercials, plus someone to actually write and direct the commercials ... and of course you've also eaten up a chunk of your budget by doing the market research to tell you what you should have in a mascot for your targetted market and all that ... and believe me, market analysis is not a cheap thing. And then, you have to get that new mascot established as the new face of whatever product you're trying to sell. And that's no small task in itself. Once you've incurred all of these costs, you can bet whatever tiny bit is left of the budget that you're going to want to get your money's worth. Hence the overused mascots.

Another set of annoying ads: if anyone has ever watched Toronto-area TV, you are no doubt aware of the Bad Boy commercials. I can't be the only one who has really grown tired of hearing "Who's better than Bad Boy? NOOOOOOOOBODY!!" for my entire life. Seriously, I can't think of a time when these ads didn't exist. Although, I guess this is what I should expect from local Toronto chains ... worst ads ever, at any rate.

    Owned.

    Anyways...

    To be more specific...

I hate this annoying commercial for some kind of Satellite Dish television network that bashes cable, and in the commercial they unleash a wave of pigs who go around eating money and such with a remake of the song "Who Let The Dogs Out" blaring, only playing "Who Let The Pigs Out".

    Wow.. you.. are.. stupid.

    Anyways...

Also, I'd want my son to play with a pregnant Barbie doll! :p

I bought a pregnant barbie last month and I wrote an essay about her. did you know if she was real she would even be too little to menstruate and her hips are to thin to squish out a little baby. they should give her C section materials too.

I cannot stand the I want your bod commercials and the commercial for maybeline's forever metalic lipsticks. the person speaking has creepy lips.

Those commercials for natural male enhancement pills. They always start out saying "This is Bob" and this Bob guy has this goofy grin on his face.

I actually was having this discussion the other day at work. We both came up with that the ones hated are yet remembered.

I like the one where Tony Hawke walks in. Mcdonald one.
And the one with the really bad looking car on it and then this guy pulls off the cloth and a nice car is underneath.

1.I don't like Sobeys' commercial where this little girl asks her mom why she shops at Sobeys..the conversation's really overdone and rather loud..

    2.Sylvan learning commercials where parents look on with over-used passive smiles at their kid's progress..it's so eerie to me -_-;

    3.McDonald's 'I'm loving it' commercials

    4. Ello, and the My Scene girl dolls shopping for clothes..the boy dolls look like girls..

5.Lingerie commercials..I once saw a rather colorful ad and later found it a condom one...

    6. Super long ones showing a product, reducing its price if you buy more, and saying things like'our people are standing by' and showing them answer many ringing phones-like cookware and fitness ads. There's one for the abs that faintly tones it and they kept on showing it, and one for muliti-change sunglasses with various lenseware to clip on through weather changes..

There's a Mexican from England I downloaded some months back advertising noodles or something- Eet iz dirty and you want it- I wouldn't mind seeing that on tv

I like that Telus mobility's commercials; one were the duckings come out of mama's nest; and ones with piglets and monkeys; another [if it was theirs] were this old guy finishes up with 'it's better this way' or something after several newbies try odd ways to do phone stuff
