No doubt many of you have heard of the rising humanitarian crisis in Sudan.

War is raging in the western region of Darfur with over 200,000 dead and millions displaced.

20 years of Civil war had raged between the North and the South only ending in 2005. Tensions continue to build between the North and the South threatening to reignite the war.

The United Nations has been unable to mediate a peace through diplomacy or sanctions. Troops have even been deployed to Darfur (a 9,000 strong UN peacekeeping force) but this seems to be unable to curb the violence.

    The question is this....

Should a nation like the USA get involved unilaterally in Sudan as a peacekeeping force?

Should the UN force be increased in size?

Or should another rout be taken?
