Music Contests and Games The Idea of BJP Idol

Hello everyone.

Earlier yesterday, as I was working on Neph's Cult, I came up with the idea of BJP Idol. I'm not exactly sure as to how it started within my head, since how I came to this idea, was based off of American Idol, as I am sure some of you, or most of you have seen on television.

I, myself have not seen the T.V. show, and from what I hear, it is quite interesting.

However, I am not sure if this idea would be any good at BJP, but I am willing to try it out.

In my opinion it should be less capitalist and more worker friendly. Communism would do.

 

I don't see how this is inherently capitalist since the Ruskies had famous people too, but if anyone cares to sing over their microphone, sure, why not?

 

Maybe we can also do something with webcams as well as singing.

Like..."funniest dressed" or something. *shrug*

 

Let's start a list of why participation is a must!

- Comical Relief
- Listen to the beautiful voices within BJP
- Chance to compose/use lyrics/our own music (maybee...)

 

I'm not a good singer but it would be funny to listen to people!

It's a great idea, but I think it could easily fit in this thread, seeing as the theme of them is so similar. Perhaps I'm wrong, though.

I'd do it, but my mic is at home. Over 1000 kilometers away. Give me 3 weeks. Maybe I'd do "Get Along" or something. (Slayers OP)

BJP Idol. Contests. Winner gets to be named whatever title.
Now the question is..whether to do it weekly, monthly, yearly...

If this gets through, a staff will be needed..

Hahaha...Glad I'm getting this response. I'm not sure if it was a good idea or not. It'd be a lot of work I am guessing though...

Well. I have some things to think of right now...Like how the winner is to be chosen, etc. Should I have a panel of judges decide, or have the whole BJP decide with their votes, and then the top be the ones that are able to go onwards towards the next round...

How many rounds should there be?
How many judges?

*gasp*

 

i think if your gunna do this you should let all the members vote like they do on american idol. as for judges i think itd be cool if 3 mods were picked and they can comment on ppl and then decide who stays and who gets kicked based on the votes

Okay. Here is a review of what we've all come up with...

Timing
I believe that it should be done monthly. It makes more sense, a lot of time. And there could be 3-4 rounds. One for each week. Of course, it all depends on how many would like to participate.

Judges
Selecting three moderators to become the judges for the BJP Idol. Maybe think of a way to select these moderators. I personally do not believe that moderators should be able to compete for BJP Idol.

If you are a mod, and you're interested in participating within the Judging, just reply saying so. Thanks! (Or if anyone would like to recommend someone..)

Separate Forum/Category, or leave it as threads?
Should we? It's too early to decide, I think.

Did we take the webcam thing out? Or no?

Haha. Well we don't just HAVE to do webcam. We could send photos as well. I mean, since the dare thread of voice is in, why not also add pictures? ^_^

I respect your opinion though.

 

I'd like to be a judge in this, if that's alright. I've taken piano and sung in a choir for several years, so I know the difference between being off key or a great singer. I'm also the mod of this forum, and can keep an eye on things in here.

I'll talk with the admins about creating a generic sub-forum called "Music Contests". And put the BJP Idol stuff in there, along with other contests that we may conjure up in time.
