uhh.. hate to be a nitpick...

    kowai - scary

Here's a few things you can do with kowai gramatically:

kowasugiru - Extremely scary! (lit. beyond scary)

    Chou kowai - Very scary.

    not to be confused with:

    kawaii - cute

    Kawaisugiru - Extremely cute!
    and
    Chou Kawaii! - Very cute!

Well, it's a new week, so why not have a new word of the day?

    Here we go!

    Another adjective? sure!

    isogashii - busy

    Some uses include:

Gomen, ima isogashii desu. - Sorry, I'm busy right now.

    isogashiku nai - not busy

    chou isogashii - very busy!

    and lots of other uses.

Is there anything we should know about this word in Kansai-ben?

    Guess what time it is!

It's Tuesday, and as of now, I'm going to try to pick up the torch on the word of the day idea. Any additional help is appreciated, greatly.

The Word of the day for Tuesday, August 6th is...

    Oishii! - delicious!

the 'it looks' modified form of an adjective has one 'i' cut off the end and 'sou' put on.. so it'd probably be 'oishisou'

    Urashima Keitaro!
I realised your Japanese are written in roman style. The kansai ben I told here was written in English style, but I'll use roman style from now on.

    Umai: slang version of Oishii
Umee: slang version of Oishii and less formal than umai
    Umasou:less formal version of oishisou.

    Kansai people also use isogashii:)

Honestly, I don't know what that second to last word Legato used there was. Let's try to keep it clean, ok?

Word of the Day, Wednesday, August 7th:

    Taihen - (Noun) problem

Taihen desu ne... nice response when something problematic has just happened to someone.

And Mikko? I can read it either way. 8-]

My bad! What Legato said wasn't dirty, just a bit saucy. It's a Miroku quote, from Inuyasha.

*chuckle* Legato really used Miroku's catch-phrase in the presence of an entire class of female Japanese exchange students? I'm surprised he didn't get slapped....^__^

Heh, I'll probably be visiting around here more often once I get back to school, hoping and praying for help on my homework. After all, I can't really keep bugging my roommates for help, can I? Nevermind that two of them are Japanese majors....

    ah, what the heck ;)

I might as well quote Jek Porkins in Japanese!

    Watashi gokurou taihen achikochi!!!!

I'm not sure though if I need "no" or "wa" in there anywhere though, because that doesn't sound right ><
