there are a few differences between the manga and the anime.. not much, but the manga storyline is a lil different form the anime.

i think the anime is great, andI havne't read all of the manga yet, but Drunkleprechaun loves the manga, says it's much better than the anime, and I trust his judgement :)

i'd say the series is well worth getting on DVD, it's one of my favs

Like Mordeth has already said...I don't see a major difference between the two. Manga specialises on movie type like Ghost in a shell, Akira etc. Anime is usually episodes and contain developing characters. Manga has usually 'strange' storylines and I'd say all graphical drawings. But I like the two so I wouldn't be too bothered which one wins the argument in the end :)

I have to concur with DL very much on this one, the Manga all the way, I have the series on dvd, however, I still read my untranslated manga a whole lot more. 'specially when it comes to LHA... there's one portion of the anime that I won't get, just because the manga that covers the same time in the story (Kanako's arrival & beyond) is so much better!

    What?

Dude, we're talking about Love Hina Anime vs Love Hina Manga. If you think Manga doesn't have developing characters in an episode based manner, think again. The Oh! My Goddess manga does this, for example.

Actually, the manga characters for Love Hina DO develop in the manga. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY moreso than in the anime. I don't really see how it's "wierd" in the way of storylines, either. If anything the manga makes about 50 times more sense and answers more questions than the anime.

And UK, the LHA thing was spread through three episodes, although there's a large gap...was it a year or something? LHA does NOT go over what the manga does...it tells it, in a "strange" way. I have the box set too! ;) I plan on getting LHA, if only for the fact that I just want to have a completed collection. :D

I agree fully though, the manga is the pick over the anime. The art's better too, imho.

its cause i wanna post on this forum place, and ive only read some of the manga, and im afraid that, if i post something that has been cut out in the anime, then ill look like an idiot.
    u know?
i heard that they cut out stuff from the manga when they turn it into the series.

Hmm, let me see...okay, no, they don't just "cut" out stuff all the time. It's more like, they compress a whole lot of events in one. Well, that's what happens some of the time. Others, yeah, things are blatantly cut out or told completely differently.

Don't worry though, if you state whether you're talking about the anime or the manga, then you won't look like an idiot.

Manga. I know these things. Right? Alright.
The anime doesn't have a kit of the stuff that's in the manga, but then again, they added stuff to the anime that isn't even in the manga(like Kentaro and Naru's sister, can't recall her name right now).

Naru's sister *is* in the manga. She's just not in any way a character important to the story. As far as the story goes, she's just there as a step-sibling. Want proof, DL? Look in the last page of the manga...well, second to last. She's right near...uh...either Keitaro's van, or the trees. She's just standing there. And I believe she has a little tidbit of a scene when Naru went home. That's about it though.

Other than that, yeah, I pretty much agree with DL.

The manga is so much better. I read the manga and was very disappointed when I watched the anime. The manga is much longer with more mini adventures and plot twists, not to mention the manga continues when the anime ends. Plus, a hell of a lot more skin is flashed in the manga.:blush2: :blush2: :D

I'm in the same situation as BP, I am addicted to the Manga version and can't stop halfway between one book (I have to finish it). I also am considering buying the anime, but i've heard arguments both for and against it (more seem against it). Plus the anime characters look WAYYYY different that they do in the manga (hell, the anime Ketaro looks like some dude from my high school [creepy]). How are the voices? The action? The comedy? lets get into the nitty gritty of it all. Lots of people like the manga, but I really haven't seen any posts that give the anime version the thumbs up.

Please tell me that the anime at least has these two parts. Were Kitsune drills holes in the wall to spy on Ketaro and Naru studying (book 5, last chapter). As well as when Motoko loses the fight with Ketaro (the naked blade reception!!) and she is has to act more female like (Kitsune; comon ketaro, nows the time to ask her to do something naughty... Ketaro; I certainly will not! [book three, middle of it. I forget the chapter]).

It's not as if the anime is *bad* at all. It's just not anywhere near the manga's league in terms of being *good*. If that doesn't make sense...let's just say the manga edges out the anime just because the stories are more evolved and it's LONGER. If you had watched only the anime, like me...the poor noob, then you'd think nothing of it. If you read only the manga, then good for you too. Either one is good...just the manga is great.

Let's see...the animation is actually rather good. Pretty damn good considering it's a TV series, where artists usually cut corners the further they get into the show...you see this exceptionally well in the final episodes of Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040. They DO look different, probably in trying to make them look a little more realistic than in the manga, even though that only really succeeded in making it look like every character has a little babyfat still.

I think the action, or the "kill Keitaro" scenes is what sets is apart from the manga. I mean, you see it in still in the comics, but...whenever I see one of those stills, I always imagine it happening anime style. They're FUNNIER that way. However, the Motoko/Tsuroko (her Aneue) fights are MUCH better drawn and put into scenes in the manga.

The comedy is almost exactly the same as in the manga...so no worries there.
