I am doing some research for a business. I was wondering if you could take the time to post your answers to a couple of questions.

    1. Who is your favorite JRock band?

    2. Would pay to go see them in concert &/or performing @ a convention in the USA?

    3. If you had to go to a conventionto see them, would you pay extra (on top of con badge price) to see the band?

    4. What would be a fair extra charge to see your favorite JRock band.

I just want to say thank you in advance to everyone who posts on this thread. I will run a poll later on to see what the top 3 - 5 JRock bands are so be sure to vote there too.

I am compiling a list, so here it goes...

    JRock (&/or Metal, Punk):

324, Aburadako, Asian Kung Fu Generation, Alice Nine, B'z, Blood, Browny Circus, Buck Tick, Bump Of Chicken, Charcoal Filter, Cocobat, Dir en grey, Duel Jewel, Due'le Quartz, ELLEGARDEN, Envy, Eve of Destiny, Gackt, Garlic Boys, Gazette, Glay, Guaze, Hyde, Janne Da Arc, Kagrra, Közi, Kotani Kinya (Gravitation), L'Arc~en~Ciel, Lareine, Lucifer, Luna Sea, Mad Capsule Markets, Malice Mizer, Meister, Miyavi, Moi Dix Mois, Mukku/Muccu, Noodles, Olivia, Penicillin, Pierrot, Plastic Tree, Psycho Le Cému, Raphael, Susumu Hirasawa (Bezerk - Forces), Schwarz Stein, Snail Ramp, Super Egg Machine, The Black Horn, The Pillows, The Stalin, Typhoon24, UVERworld,, Vogus Image, X Japan, YKZ

    Thanks ^^) and....

Please post ^^) Help me build the list and answer the other questions (See 1st post) I know that it could mean bringing some popular bands to the states so that you could go and see them, but it requires feed back, like this thread, to get back to the people who need to know. This is one of my side pet projects right now. I have about six months (5 left) to really research directly with the cosplay/J music/gamer community. I would love more information so that I can present an accurate description of what Japanese rock, metal, punk, pop music is popular and desireable in this medium (anime, manga, cosplay, gamer type forums accross USA) A lot of times I just scan the info already provided, but I was testing out the JP Boards because I like them and wanted to see what the members thought.

I have seen two bands at Conventions I attended and didn't have to pay extra on the con bage price. I would pay a little more to see: L'Arc~en~Ciel, Dir en grey, Duel Jewel, & Asian Kung Fu Generation.

I haven't heard of all of these, but I have heard Blood & Psycho~le~Cemu live, and have heard songs by Asian Kung Fu Generation, Dir en grey, Duel Jewel, Közi, Kotani Kinya, L'Arc~en~Ciel, Susumu Hirasawa, & Malice Mizer.

Considering BJP is the home of the [thread=919]largest collection of Pillows lyrics on the net[/thread], as well as having its own Pillows forum, I'd say don't be surprised if that's the majority of answers you get. :p

Maybe I should pick up a song or two and listen to them sometime... >.>

Apart from that the only J-rock group I really know anything about is Asian Kung Fu Generation, and listening to two songs doesn't make for much. :p I mostly stick with J-pop. I should get out more... <.<

    Jrock for me:

Asian Kung Fu Generation, Bump Of Chicken, Charcoal Filter, Dir en grey, ELLEGARDEN, Glay, Janne Da Arc, L'Arc~en~Ciel,Luna Sea, Mad Capsule Markets, Malice Mizer, meister, Noodles, OLIVIA, The Back Horn, The Pillows, Typhoon24, YKZ, UVERworld. (I probably have more, but I can't think of any right now)

Most bands are on the "Visual Kei" genre, which is another word for Jrock. The likes of Malice Mizer, Dir En Grey, and Moi dix Mois, are typical bands of Visual Kei.

Questions 2 - 4 goes to the same @ your other thread.

Thanks Teddz :) Your input helps. I saw in another thread your posts, so know that some of the bands I have listed came from you. I posted a longer reply in the other thread *more like talking about everything* so check that one out also if you'd like.

I don't quite under stand the term "Visual Kei" yet, so I just listed it as JRock/Metal/Punk. I will get familiar with the term I'm sure. When I talk/look at the other forum boards I haven't seen a lot of mention of the term, so thanks for the info. Anything more you can add will also help.

    Thanks again and....

Hmm, lets see.. I like the following bands: Asian Kung Fu Generation, Dir en grey, Gackt, Glay, Kotani Kinya (Gravitation), L'Arc~en~Ciel, Psycho Le Cému, The Pillows, UVERworld. As for Malice Mizer, I didn't hear any of them, but I'd like to try it.

My favorite band would be L'Arc~en~Ciel, since I have more than one album of them and their stuff don't come where I live - thats the same for all JRock bands. I use the opportunity of going to Malaysia to buy any JRock album.

Since the chances of a JRock band to come here is like 0%, I don't think I'd know if I'll pay for them or not, but if it would happen I might pay to attend: Dir en grey, L'Arc~en~Ciel, The Pillows, UVERworld; I'd pay extra for L'Arc~en~Ciel though.

    Thanks ^^)

I'd pay extra for them too *giggles :D I may not be able to speak, read, or write Japanese, but I LOVE the music. I could only imagine the concert that L'Arc~en~Ciel would put on. :p

Thanks for posting on my thread.

*as a side note... I am currently tring to learn Japanese... I hope I don't mutalate it when I say something... *LOL I am holding off on the reading and writing part for now.... but I will get to it^^)

Mine would be Asian Kung Fu Generation and Porno Graffiti... UVERworld seems promising as well.
