FR and Basher have decided to start a new RPG. Yes, we will be Co-GMs on this one.

This one is about the Universe of the Four Gods with ALL the Priestesses. There will be some similarities but there is a whole new cast. Yes New Seishi and Yes New Priestesses.

Fushigi Yuugi Storyline

For those who don’t know here is a brief introduction into Fushigi Yuugi.

Fushigi Yuugi is created by Yuu Watase.

Fushigi Yuugi is about an average female middle school student who is sucked into an ancient Chinese novel titled "The Universe of Four Gods". There she discovers that she is in an ancient country in what is now China and is to be the Priestess of one of the four gods. As the priestess, her duty is to gather the Seven Seishi who are her protectors. Once they are gathered, the priestess will summon the god and bring peace between the warring lands. But it's harder than it seems. Along the road, many hardships are faced, like a rival or the fact that some of the people don’t want her there. Who summons their god first or who triumphs over the hardship is up to the courage and skill of the Priestesses and their Seishi, as they meet triumphs and tragedies along the way.

Now what follows is the actual RPG.

Storyline

New passage from The Universe of the Four Gods:

"This is the story that begins a new
For it has already gone threw one cycle
But now once again danger looms
This story is about four girls now
Who each must single-handedly gather the Seven Stars of Suzaku, Seiryuu, Byakkou, and Genbuu
And gain the power to make all of their own dreams come true.
The story itself is an incantation
And those who shall read it will gain power
To have their wishes granted.
As soon as the page is turned,
The story will become real and begin again."

This story will now follow the new priestess: Nanbara Suzume, Touda Arashi, Nishitani Misao, and Kitayama Chie. Nanbara Suzume is the priestess of Suzaku who is also the great grand daughter of the first priestess of Suzaku. Touda Arashi is the priestess of Seiryuu. Nishitani Misao is the priestess of Byakkou. Kitayama Chie is the priestess of Genbuu.

While visiting the Tokyo National Library for studying for the high school entrance exam the four best friends stumble upon an ancient book. Touda Arashi has opened the book, The Universe of the Four Gods, and reads the passage from inside. Thinking that this is a joke Kitarama Chie turns the page. The four girls are whisked into the book where they become separated. After feeling lost and separated ill feelings start to emerge for this isn’t any ordinary book.

With in the Universe of the Four Gods a new conflict has arisen. The world of the book has been thrown into a world war. Konan is now the reigning empire. For 1,000 years have passed since the last priestess called upon the mystic power.

The empires of Konan (Suzaku), Sailo (Byakko), Kutou (Seiryuu), and Hokan (Genbuu) now wish for new priestesses. While each have their reasons for this. But some of the people are ill minded about finding the Seishi and the priestess for with what happened to Kutou.

Kutou has been weakened due to the last priestess unable to control the power of Seiryuu. It was nearly destroyed. Nearly left in ruins Kutou was over thrown and a new Emperor from the Tamagawa (Jewel River) clan took power. Now under a new power Kutou is given a chance to once again prosper.

A new race has begun within the book for the priestesses have shown themselves. They must find each of the Seven Seishi and call upon the mystic power of Suzaku, Seiryuu, Byakkou, and Genbuu in order to save the world of the book.

We begin our story on a simple day where four best friends don’t know what waits their new fate.

Four Gods and Empire Information

Suzaku

Land: A prosperous land, the southern kingdom of Konan, is very alike ancient China. It is always trying to conquest the other three kingdoms; Hokan, Sailo, and Kutou. They have the biggest and strongest army know. Its actual emperor is very cruel, but in reality he is just a coward that wants to rule the whole world. Konan's capital is Eiyou. They have a market filled with different merchandise from textiles to traditional food.

Priestess: Nanbara Suzume (Suzume means Sparrow. Nanbara is written "Southren Field")

Seven Seishi: Tamahome, Hotohori, Nuriko, Chichiri, Chiriko, Tasuki, and Mitsukake

Seiryuu
Appearance: a blue dragon
Human Form:

Protects: Kutou Country

Land: Once a warrior country, the Kutou Empire had fallen do to the first priestess in ability to control Seiryuu. Out of the rumble a new regime came forth bring Kutou new hope. It’s ruled by the Tamagawa (Jewel River) clan. The emperor is very kind and does deal with the empire decisions very wisely.

Priestess: Touda Arashi (Means "Storm of the Eastern Field")

Seven Seishi: Amiboshi, Suboshi, Tomo, Soi, Nakago, Ashitare, and Miboshi.

Byakko
Appearance: a white tiger
Human Form:

Protects: Sailo Country

Land: The dessert country of Sailo. A very beautiful place indeed, Sailo is very alike western China.

Priestess: Nishitani Misao (Means "Loyalty of the Western Valley")

Seven Seishi: Tokaki, Tatara, Kokie, Sabaru, Amefuri, Karasuki, and Toroki.

Genbuu
Appearance: a tortoise mixed with a snake
Human Form:

Protects: Hokan Country

Land: The Hokan country is a very cold place, and it's analogous to Mongolia. It is three times bigger than Konan.

Priestess: Kitayama Chie (Means "Wisdom of the Northern Mountain")

Seven Seishi:
Hikitsu, Inam, Uruki, Tomite, Uramiya, Hatsui, Naname.

I just have a few quick questions before I join.

How many characters are we allowed to have in one country or just over all? You didn't really go into that but I noticed that both you and FR have two characters each, if you don't count the minor character.

I was wondering about the symbol. There isn't any link to a picture that I see and if there is a picture that's showing right now, than its the computer I'm using right now that's not showing it. Also, you didn't put down where the symbols are on the body. Do we just make up where it is?

 

Where did you find the other Seishi? and can you post your people?

 

Oh, wait, I see the symbols now on the picture. But where are they on each person's body or do we just choose where they are?

 

At the moment, we want to see how much interest the public has in the RPG, if a lot of people have interest we shall limit the characters. If not many people do, we shall let people run wild in layman terms. =D

You can at the moment apply for bopth a miko and a seishi. HOWEVER, if you apply for a miko, you must also apply for a seishi, and they can NOT be from the same country. The reason you must also have a seishi is because your miko may or may not be accepted. Since there's only two miko positions left, we are looking into every profile that is made and picking the ones we feel are good.
If we do allow you to have multiple seishi, I don't think we'll allow them to be of the same country, with exception to Amiboshi and Suboshi of Seiryuu. Amiboshi and Suboshi were twins, and I would very much like to keep them that way as I adored both boys. (Ami-kun, Subo-kun...*pout pout*)

we're just gonna wait out and see how this rpg is received first before applying restrictions like that.

To answear your question Yukiko, the other seishi's names have been known forever. =P Yuu Watase listed them in FY side bars and extras numerous times, and any well done FY site will have them listed. However, most of Byakkou, and a few Genbuu have not yet appeared. That is why you can make your OWN seishi. =)

And yes we will soon post our profiles. i intend to do mine tonight. Fans of the series will be very surprised by my Nuriko. =3

Lance, I shall provide a list of where the symbols are located later, however, some are unknown (the one belonging to the seishi who have yet to appear)

 

Okay, new question....if you can make your OWN seishi, do we just make up everything for him/her. And I could make just two seishin if I wanted to, right? And if I can, could those two be from the real world, not the China....place....thing ?

EDIT: you do know that the design you used for your character Hitachi from Kingdom Academy is in fact Chichiri, a seishi of Suzaku, right?

......the world of the book is essentially feudal day China. Sorry for what I said, but what I meant was that they must be from the book.

I bet you didn't even know that the picture you use for Hitachi in KA is actually a characetr from FY, the unbelievably popular Chichiri (he's actually probably my favorite character with Nuriko and Limdo/Uruki xDDD)

Let's put it this way...

Back in the Taisho era of Japan (that's about 1920's) a man named Einosuke Okuda is hard at work translating a Chinese ancient ritual which is very cultish into Japanese. This becomes the Universe of the Four Gods. After the death of her sick mother, Einosuke's daughter Takiko tries to rip the book, only to be pulled inside it. She lands in the country of Hokkan, and becomes the Genbuu no Miko
After many perils which are now finally being revealed to us in the manga prequel, Fushigi Yuugi: Genbuu Kaiden, Takiko falls for her seishi, Uruki a.k.a. Limdo. However, when she summons Genbuu, she proved to not be strong enough to handle his power. She quickly makes her wishes and returns home; her soul completely consumed. her father, unable to see her this way, kills her and later himself, while trying to burn the book.
But the book would not die.
The book somehow ends up in the hands of Okuda's friend. That then ends up in the hands of his daughter Ohsugi Suzuno. Suzuno is then pulled into the book, and lands in Sailo, becoming the Byakkou no Miko.
There, Suzuno meets her true love, her seishi Tatara. The two wish to be together, but when Suzuno wishes to stay inside the book, the book does not allow this and she is sent back regardless, sepearating her forever from Tatara. The exact moment Tatara dies in the book, Suzuno does as well. The book is now placed in the restricted area of the Tokyo National Library.
Years later, Miaka Yuuki and Yui Hongo are both at the library and Miaka thinks she hears the sound of a bird flapping. They are lead to the restricted area and find the book. Both are pulled in, Miaka landing in Konan, becoming the Suzaku no Miko and Yui in Kutou, becoming the Seiryuu no Miko
I'll leave at that. Don't want to give out too many spoilers. You should watch it. It is by far one of the greatest animes ever.

Our RPG takes place 1000 years later (in book time. The book goes much faster than the real world but remains as feudal China) when the book is trying to regenerate the cycle of summoning the gods. Since ALL the seishi are now long dead, new seishi have been born. they're not reincarantions per see, but they are somewhat like their ancient counterparts in terms of abilties and sometimes appearance and personalities (depending on what YOU, the player, makes).
This is where you players come in. An example is my Nuriko. The original Nuriko was a male crossdresser. My Nuriko is a crossdresser as well, only it's a girl trying to be a boy.

I also recommend you look around in the Yuu Watase forum which I moderate.

 

So we make characters to replace the old ones in a way......okay.

And just to point this out, of the pictures for Hotohori, Chichiri, Tasuki and Mitsukake (I was going to use all four ), I was going to use those for the RPG KA but I just went with Chichiri for Hitachi and choose other pictures. To tell you the truth, they are the only ones that really have an appearance I like and I'm thinking of using Tamahome picture for something in KA D).

The seishi will have two names. The seishi name and the one born with it.

Seeing how some use it and others don’t. It depends on how your character “feels” about being a seishi. You can decide what name to use.

Name: Chie Kitayama (Kitayama Chie)
Name Meaning: Wisdom of the Northern Mountain
Age: 14
Miko of: Genbuu

Appearance: Long, sleek black hair, usually tied back with a green ribbon (styled like the original Genbuu no Miko, Takiko). Her eyes are such a deep shade of brown they appear black. She is often teased for her dainty and small appearance.

Back ground: Supposedly the oldest of the four ("And therefore, I am smarter than you!"), Chie is also the smallest. Chie is a bit of a daddy's girl. Unlike the former Genbuu no Miko, Takiko Okuda, she has a good relationship with her father and is spoiled by him, which may have helped make her a little bit of a brat. She lost her mother when she was a child however, due to illness. This has haunted Chie her whole life and she continues to dwell on it...
Despite being a daddy's girl and being so small, Chie became a bit of a tomboy, while still maintaining an aura of feminity. However, her loud and boistorous attitude sometimes doesn't sit well with people. she is very sarcastic and is probably the meanest of the four. When it comes to friends tho, Chie is the best you can have.


Seishi Name: Nuriko
Symbol: Yanagi “Willow"
Power: enhanced physical strength
Country with: currently on the run from the Konan empire. Hiding in Sailo. (she is however, still loyal to her country)

Real Name: Korine Chuen
Name Meaning: (no specific meaning intended. if you're an FY fan, you should be able to figure out why I chose this name ;P)
Age: 17
Gender: female

Appearance: Short black hair that has a tinge of purple. green blue eyes. Is always seen in men's clothing. Quite tall. As masculine as she wishes to be, she is still quite feminine. this makes it VERY hard to tell her true gender.

Back ground: For as long as she can remember, Nuriko has wanted to be a boy. She can't put her finger on exactly why, the life of a woman just appeared boring to her. She got angry with her parents when they tried to force her to be more feminine, however, she vowed to never speak with them the day they offered her to be a part of the emperor's harem. In fact she disowned them, discarded their family name and thought up a new one she thought was nice.
Once there, Nuriko was greatly admired by the emperor, but she fled almost as soon as she got there. Having never agreed with her country's current ways and with the Emperor on her trail, she escaped to Sailo and has since been hiding there.
Nuriko has known she was a seishi of suzaku since she was a child. She wishes to find the Suzaku no Miko and convince her to help Konan return to its former ways.

Appearance: He has short purple hair that goes passed his ears. He has circle shaped blue eyes. He wears a white short sleeve shirt with a wide black tunic on top. He wears blue wide pants with a hint of yellow in them as he wears the bottom of a black rope that splits with the legs.

Weapon: None as he uses chi energy.

Background: Unknown but Shinken is his brother. At the moment, neither of them know that they are seishi.

Real Name: Shinken Kamiu

Name meaning: seriousness, earnestness

Age: Unknown but he appears to be 18

Gender: Male

Appearance: He has long white hair with a hint of blue that goes down to his shoulders. He has narrowed sea green eyes. He wears a black rope with a black sash going over his left shoulder, threw another black sash around his waist and on down his left leg until it stops at the end of his rope.

It is a Chinese double sword within the same sheath that once drawn, it can split into two swords.

Background: Unknown but Keibo is his brother. At the moment, neither of them know that they are seishi.

Symbol: Woman, it is located on his chest but can only be seen when he is a female.
Power: Control of Wind, changes into a female
Country with: Sort of with Genbuu. *read back ground*

Real Name: Kane Yamakami
Name Meaning: Warrior of the Mountain God
Age: 17
Gender: Male. But can change into a female.

Appearance: Kane has two appearances. His male form has short black hair with specks of brown hair. His eyes are a deep blue. His female form has long brown hair. Which she pulls back sort using a piece of string like the original Uruki. Her eyes are purple.

Back ground: Kane is the crown prince of Hokan. He was the next in line for the thrown. Hokan is a cold place and he was asked to do even colder act when he was 15 years old. He refused to slaughter a group of woman and children completely innocent people. So his father banished him and made him a wanted man. His father wasn’t being completely cruel. The woman could breed strong fighters or cure the strong fighters and the children could become strong fighters. This is during a war so despite the reasoning behind it Kane couldn’t do it. It went against his oath.

Kane found out after the time that he was banished that he was a seishi. He is a wanted man and has killed thousands of men. There are bounty hunters after his head. He used his ability to change form escape into the Kutou Country where he currently resides. Kutou is more peaceful then the rest.

He is against being a seishi. So he goes with Kane. He feels his father will call upon Genbuu to destroy or take over the other three countries. Kane feels that Kutou is the best country for it has never had a priestess that could control a god. He feels the gods create unnecessary power and destroys the country from within.

Priestess Profile

Name: Touda Arashi (Arashi Touda)
Name Meaning: Storm of the Eastern Field
Age: 14
Miko of: Seiryuu

Appearance: Touda is the tallest of the group. She stands at 5’ 4” tall. She is a little above the average height. She is also the second oldest with only a month apart from Chie. Her hair is long and brown but it is tinted copper. It is auburn with streaks of black. It is her natural hair color. She lets her hair flow and doesn’t use any sort of ribbon.

Back ground: Touda is the athletic one of the group. It was the one thing that she is good at. She is even better then Chie despite their age. She is also nicer then Chie but not nearly the nicest.

Touda has always liked sports. She carries around a little rubber ball. She likes to throw it back and forth. She uses sports to make up for her home life which is a mess.

It is pretty much why her school work is lacking. She has too much on her mind and she uses sports as an outlet. Touda passes school but barely just enough to play sports. And Chie always gets on her case about it. They fight a lot.

Touda mother and father have separated recently. She blames herself for it. It doesn’t help that her mother also tells her this. She just found out that day when the girls get pulled into the book that her father is dying. She hasn’t told her friends this yet. She does keep things in until they spill out. That day she was walking around a little glum.

Here are some characetrs played by Basher and I. Tsutomu Nakzato will be played by us BOTH. As well as taiitsukun. The majority fo the Nyan Nyans will be NPCs, except Pinku-Nyan and Pur-Nyan. Pinku-Nyan will be played by me and Pur-Nyan by Basher.

Name: Tsutomu Nakazato (Nakazato Tsutomu)
Means: Hard Working Center Village
Age: 15

Appearance: Short black hair and brown eyes so dark they look black. He is the average looking Japanese male, with exception to his height, which is about 5’10. Normally seen in his school, Yotsubadai’s, uniform, which is the blazer, trouser and tie ensemble. If not wearing his uniform, he wears the newest casual trends of Japan. He looks a little like Tamahome/Taka Sukunami, appearance wise, because he’s related to Suzume…however…the one I’m really modeling him after is Kyou Wakamiya, from another Yuu Watase manga, Alice 19th

Background: Tsutomu is good friends with all four girls. He used to live in the same apartment building as Chie. He is also Suzume’s third cousin (something she doesn’t let get in her way of having a crush on him.) When he moved at age 12, he moved next door to Misao. He and Arashi know each other from sports functions. With all four knowing him personally, he’s often dubbed ‘Onii-chan’ (big brother) to the group, but, really, all four girls have a crush on him. When they all went to the same school, there was more friendly competition to try and win his affection, but when he went on to Yostubadai High School, things started to get fierce and arguments began to ensue as all four girls worked their butts off to try and get into Yotsubadai.
Chie: I’ve known him the longest! It’s going to be me!
Suzume: He’s my cousin, so you aren’t the one that’s known him longest!
Misao: but that’s exactly why you shouldn’t have him! You three rarely see him anymore, I see him everyday!
Arashi: You’re being ridiculous, all of you! Me and him have the most in common, so just shove off!
Chie: No, you shove off!

Personality wise Tsutomu is a little like Prince Charming. He never forces himself on girls and beats up those who do. He’s polite and well mannered, and always nice. He has no idea of Suzume, Arashi, Misao and Chie’s affections for him.

That day at the library, Tsutomu spots the four girls inside and unwillingly witnesses their suction into the book. Tsutomu’s role in the rpg is reading the book while the girls are inside and following all four of their adventures…

People who know FY will know of Taiitsukun, but for those that don’t….
Taiitsukun is the main god of the Universe of the Four Gods. She’s in charge. She’s more described as an Oracle however. Years and years ago Taiitsukun gave each country a copy of the Universe of the Four Gods (in the book, there are scrolls named the Universe of the Four gods and are used to summon the god, just to get out confusion). But each of those copies is gone now as all four priestesses appeared. (In the ritual, the scroll is burned). 500 years ago, Taiitsukun restarted the process, by giving the scrolls once again to the countries. She has been waiting patiently for the priestesses to reappear.

Taiitsukun lives atop of Mount Taikyoku, a heavenly mountain in the center of the book world. Only the Priestess and her seishi can go there, everyone else only sees a pile of rubble. She lives in her palace with the Nyan-Nyan, and watches over all four countries…but does not interfere…

Once again, fans of FY will know these little munchkins, but for those unfamiliar…
The Nyan-Nyan are Taiitsukun’s helpers on Mt. Taikyoku. They are a group of adorable little girls who all look alike and never age. They get to the point in their speech and their actions, and have fun interrupting their master.
The majority of them have green hair, except two that follow Taiitsukun everywhere now. They are Nyan-Nyan Pink (played by me) and Nyan-Nyan Purple (played by Basher), nicknamed Pinku-Nyan and Pur-Nyan, obviously named for their hair colours. These two are much more sophisticated than their green hairred sisters, as they speak more and get more done. Taiitsukun sends these two to check up on the world outside of Mt. Taikyoku. It will be these two who aid the priestesses. Since most people do not know the Nyan-Nyan even exist (actually, no one except the original seishi know their existence. =P) your characters will not know who or what they are and may or may not choose to believe them…

Picked the colours pink and purple because none of the countries have these colours, so they’re not allied with any country.

 

Made a mistake and editted Genbu glow black not green. The manga is in black and white.
