Also it comes out in October. A ways a way but still worth waiting for.

I read somewhere they never wanted an Anime for this. But with the Live Action Movie doing so well my guess was they felt it was ready. Maybe. heh.

I wonder who will be fansubbing it.

With Light and L against each other it will be awesome.

I don't know which one is better.

I am halfway through the Deathnote manga. I can't wait for the anime and the movie to be subbed.

Omg, I love those two!!!

Most people will probably know Kappei as the voice of Inu Yasha (although he's been SOOOOOOOOOOO much more including Ryuichi in Gravitation, Usopp in One Piece, Shinichi Kudo in Detective Conan, and Tombo in Kiki's Delivery Service, among others) and Aya Hirano is the lady who made the lovable obnoxiness of Haruhi Suzumiya come to life. (boom. instant worship for her)

I'm dying right now. XDD this shall be awesome~

Omg...the first episode...omg...

This is beautiful.

No seriously, I'm so uberly impressed.

The animation is beautiful, and not in the same way the manga was. In it's own way, one that works. Light is simply gorgeous, from his facial expressions, to that sexy voice. His somewhat innocent, oh so arrogant, and at this moment slightly deranged (not quite completely yet) personality comes across so well. Ryuk is a little 'meh'. I don't think he will sucessfully shine until the movie.

There's very little differences from the manga, and all those differences are ones that are inevitable because there's just some things you have to do differently in an anime, or movie, to get the desired effect from the viewer. For example, I like how the scene where Light first meets Ryuk is now happening during a gloomy time in the day, before a storm, rather than in the middle of the afternoon like it is in the manga. This change is obviously made for pathetic fallacy, and it works. There's a lot more detail put into the scenes too.

My favorite scene has to be where Light is writing all the names in the Deathnote, and all the criminals are dying, for it's like he's some sort of maestro in that scene, with his movements. And that music in the background is great. I want that track. It makes me think of One-Winged Angel and Liberi Fatali.

Speaking of the music, so far, I love it. =D The opening theme is okay, the ending theme is better. (both song wise and animation wise)

The apple scene is another favorite. XDDD I'm glad that was there XD

Anyways, over all, I am very, very impressed, and a happy camper. <3 I can't wait for more~

I watched it with my RL buddy. And my boyfriend was playing WoW taking down a boss. He got so mad. Hehe

We noticed that they said Ratio and Light was written. Thought it is very close in the way they say it. At least with the Live-evil version.

There was something else but I forgot. When I watch it again tonight I will remember.

I think they pulled Light off well. He has his moments where is almost derange. I liked how they matched it up when both Light and Ryuk say the same thing with Ryuk saying the last word.

Also instead of Ryuk saying Humans are interesting he said Humans are fun. I said interesting. And my RL buddy said I was thinking that.

Also Ryuk name is shortened.

The ending with Light's eyes are red is awesome. There is a little in the opening. But that has Ryuk eyes glowing more.

I can't believe that FR didn't like the beginning better consider L is in the beginning.

The music where Light is killing off people sounds celtic to me. Along with where Light tells Ryuk that he wants to become god of the new world.

I'm a Light fan. I don't much care for L other than his movements and the little things he does make me snicker or something.

I like L in the MOVIE. Cause the guy playing L is supremely hawt. X3

But I'm a Light fanatic. Tis the little psycho I love.


And Basher...Raito is really just...the misprounouciation of Light. =/ It's Engrish. It's like how if you listen closely, with Light says Death Note it actually comes out 'Des Notu'. Like how in YGO Isis comes out 'Ishizu' and Malik 'Mariku'. And then in Final Fantasy, Aerith 'Aeris', Cloud 'Kurado' and Sephiroth actually comes out sounding like 'Sephiros'. Awwww, good ol' Engrish~ It amuses me so~

just bringing that up in case you didn't realize it before. ^^;

Nope. I read it on ANN Trivia. I wanted them to actually say it. Heh. I eit thousands were saying Raito. Not really the Engrish pronunciation. I guess I was amused when a good mix was saying it wrong.

I personnal perfer Engrish cause that's how they have it. Instead of the english translation.

I don't. XD Because it's not supposed to be the Engirsh anyways. In the Japanese manga, it's still written Light. but whatever =/

 

Um. Raito's name can be translated to either Light or Write. Light as in bringing light and justice into the world, and write as in 'writing in the death note.'

So they changed it to Light. Cause when I was reading the manga before it was licensed it was Raito. Then they changed it once the Manga came out in the states to Light.

I guess they wanted an english sounding name. Just like death note is english.

Even here I would rather use Raito. But no one would know who he is. Wait I will anyay.

Anyway I can't wait for episode 2. L. Raito isn't the same with out L.
