Recreation Facebook Anyone?

Anyone here uses facebook to look up friends?

I just don't see what the point of a Facebook is. To find friends? I sorta know who my friends are... To talk to friends? It's called a phone. To join groups with friends? Just invite them all out to pizza, or something. Seriously, it's not like it's necessary AT ALL.

 

Well the whole point is for friends who might not often see each other or converse daily, or even monthly, to have the ability to see what their old friend might be up to or maybe a party they are having or even if their life is going well. It really is supposed to only be for college people but they extended it recently to high school and everyone else which I think is ridiculous. One of the main reasons Facebook was made was for those college bound people who had friends that might not be going to the same college as they were and having this technological medium saves time money and gives a little More then just a lousy phone call. On the plus side it also reminds you of friends birthdays so you don't feel like an idiot when you don't say happy Birthday. So if you're going to down on it back it up or put some positive... it never hurts :sweat2:

 

I see the good it does for college kids. But again, you could just call, or if you want to save money, there's always AIM. A free download, too. But Facebook, now that it includes EVERBODY, like MySpace, is just stupid nowadays.

I use facebook, I mainly use it to talk to my friends in College. Not all come ack to Nevada a lot and such.
Also I am in Show Choir and I use facebook to talk to people I met at competitons. Using Facebook which includes everyone makes it easy to find people you have met , by searching groups and such.

Now everyones parents want them to download programs on their computers. So I think its a great way to keep in touch with people who are far away.

 

I only use Facebook because Jackabee made me join :sweat2:

 

Ive never heard of it, but It does sound interesting.

 

It's not much different from Myspace.. It's better at friend control though...you don't get fifty thousand requests everyday trying to be your friend.

My cousin made me join. I haven't looked at it in a while though.

 

I only joined 'cause my girlfriend made me. Plus, it's fun to see what everyone says about you when they don't think you're listening.

 

I heard about facebook here. Never carried for it. It is like myspace though someone I know swears it is better. I barely have myspace so you can guess what I picked.

I'm not a facebook-holic; but it is sort of fun when it comes to poking people and whatnot. : ]

Maybe it's just me.

 

I'll have you know that my mom uses Facebook to see where her old childhood friends are and how they're doing. Ones she hasn't seen in 30 years.

And you can't talk to a friend THAT old with AIM because you just won't know what their AIM is.


Anyways, I got myself a facebook last week. It's not THAT bad. I used to think it was stupid too, but really, it's OKAY.

Facebook is a bit "better" than myspaces. Mostly because myspace is so lulz when it comes to the überflashy and annoying personal pages...

I only use facebook to hook up old friends and college contacts
