Creative Writing Promises. Addiction. {Don't hurt me.}

A poem I wrote..Not my best. Not my worst.

Holding my hand close to his heart..I asked just one question.

"Will you let me have it, forever?"
"It's your's. I promise. As long as you want it."
............................................................

She's feeling so cold. She's feeling so hollow
No more chances. It's too much to swallow;
Three months. Still needing. Still wanting
Those little white pills. They're haunting;
Don't leave me. I won't be able to take it
One more chance. I promise, we'll make it;
One more chance, i'll give you. He replies
Next time, I sware it. I'll ignore your cries;
I won't help you or make all the pain stop
Do you want the pills or do you want my heart?;
Free of my addiction; My heart begins to rejoice
I hold him close in tears; he smiles at my choice;
..............................................................

"Here's my promise. I'll want your heart forever. Now, all you have to do is keep your's.."

 

So is this poem...
but it's nice to see she chose him over the pills.

 

Agreed.

I liked it. I reminds me of what some of my friends have gone through. Difficult choice as it is at least she has someone there.

 

It's horrible to be in. Your used to one lifestyle and someone you love expects you to stop..or lose them. I guess that's the only way to go with people like me.
