This anime is great. Although it probably hasn't gotten enough credit. There is nothing on You Tube unless ya speak spanish.

There are two series, Buzzer Beater (13 episodes) and right now Buzzer Beater (2007) is airing.

They are about the same thing. But the second series extends/sequel from the first.

    Storyline:

Hideyoshi is a homeless boy living in New York in the near future, who survives by hustling other kids in basketball games. But now he's been drafted into a pro team-a pro team with a very unique goal.

There once was a time when humans dominated the game of basketball. But times have changed, and now the physically superior alien players have taken over the game, and there are barely any human players next. But Hideyoshi's team-the first all-human team to compete in the Space League-intends to change all that, and bring the championship back home to Earth.

    From ANN.

Humans no longer dominate in basketball. It is a very unique concept.

Hideyoshi will definately make you laugh. He can be a pure idoit at times. His ability and his outragous personality get the attention of the top players whom are all alien.

You can download Buzzer Beater here

And the start of Buzzer Beater 2007 here

The author is Takehiko Inoue who did a very known series called Slam Dunk.

I don't recommend reading the manga just yet for Buzzer Beater. It may ruin the anime series for you. It's only 4 volumes long.

It is. Hideyoshi makes it by far interesting and funny.

Oops supposed to be in Fanfic. Thought I did put it there. Transfer please.

Well now, interesting anime -- been watching the first release. I have to say though, the animation is not that great, but the characters are pretty cool. I hope the 2007 release has slightly better animation values. :)

I don't think it has changed to much....

I do think so of the scenes are rather good. Like the planet.

Tono's hilarious. It's like a mix of...a typical genki character and Ryoma Echizen.

Maybe that's why I like him so much.

The translators changed Tono to Boss for the 2007 series.

I think the animation is a little better.

I am hoping that the anime goes past the manga.

There is way to much fun with Tono/Hideyoshi to not let it continue.
