Tanaka Yukio, whose nickname was Koyuki, was an ordinary student who didn’t have special interests or specialties. One day, because he helped a strange dog named “BECK”, he got to know the dog’s master.

He used to think of a pop star “Kuniyoshi Chiemi” who came from Okinawa as the best artist ever. However, the shocking meeting with a charismatic band group, “Dying Bride”, something in his life began to change.

One thing that I like about this anime is the music...really good. And people who have their own bands, would enjoy this anime. Your typcial, music, comedy anime.

The art is decent, and on the opening scenes, the lipsynch of the song is surprisingly good. I advice you all to check this anime out!

I really like the opening. The people speaking in english and swearing was a bit of a shocker, it fit though. I can't wait for more. The opening animation amazed me too! I felt jipped in the first episode because I thought he'd sing more than 2 words, but that makes me want to watch the second episode now.

Dying Bride... heh heh, vowel shifts strike again (Dying Breed is, of course, the real name! I've been reading the manga for this one a while now (up to volume 19, volume 20 is out in Japan!) Great manga with a message about sellout musicians, They're horrible!

Thoughts so far, I like the music of the series, and if the sample of DyBre's music is indicative of what we're going to hear from Beck themselves? Oh yeah, bring the Rock! This is another series that's got me holding a high standard. I'm really hoping for that message from the manga to come through.

I really loved Beck episode 01. "What the **** are you doing to my car?!" XDD! Also, Koyuki sort of looks like Shinji.

Both the openings and endings were great, and I love the animation! This is definitely on my watch list.

Great sounding introductory piece, especially of the pan shots of the old-school Las Vegas.

I'm definitely loving the music of the series, and the engrish. It *almost* sounded naturally fluent...then they started talking in longer sentences! =P

Definitely though, the music is making me anxious for more releases. I found myself waiting for the music to cut in more than the story to continue. Definitely looking forward to more!

Okay, I just finished watching episode 26. I had my reservations about it being able to come up with an ending in a 26 episode time frame. I find the slideshow part at the end to be odd because I know they had time constraints.. It may have been better longer, but I understand with budget and all. I'm happy Beck was made into an anime. I enjoyed all the music in the anime, and that mad bicycle dash Koyuki finally had in one of the later episodes.

I love the Dying Breed music, espesally the one that they played during the opening credits. I probably would have liked to see more interation with Koyuki and Maho, but i think we finally got the gerneral idea of how they were getting on.
The ending did seem a little quick, that something that could have probably been done better. All the lose ends just seemed to get themselves rapped up all of a suden in the end, which i don't think worked here.

Only watched a few eps of this. The animation is obviously the best quality, and well the music is not my taste, but you can tell its well done. I dont know how accurate it is but it seems to give a realy good impressian of the Nihon/Amerika culture in a big Japanese city. OK, I know its anime but its got a lot of realism in it I thought. very intresting if you are learning Japanese and u are interested in slang and casual speech, idioms etc. Character design is excellent too.

On the down side the attemts at doing American accents make my toes curl, but maybe its their way of getting their own back on all those bad American dubs. It realy wold have been excelent if they had got real Americans to play those parts - I mean its not as if there aren't plenty in Japan who can speak good enough Japanese to do it. Of course you can so not see the Japanese doing that.

One of the best recent terebi anime in my opinion, even tho not my personal favourite. This style of anime just gets better and better.

Bringing this back from the ead, for the sole reason it should still be discussed, as the manga is now being released by TokyoPop.

The manga continues on, when the anime just kinda gave us clips. Anyone pick this great series up?

If not, please find someway to watch it...it's a great show, with some awesome "real" music. Enough so that I continually listen to it, even so long after this thread has died.

The Mongolian Chop Squad's versin of "I've Got a Feeling" is nothing short of friggin' awesome and such.

I love their rendition of The Beatle's classic!. I've been picking up the manga.. seriously it's not coming out fast enough.. I couldn't read anymore manga after volume 21 or so then a few chapters here and there I think.. so .. gah ><

I so much love the manga.. the anime, of course I loved the music, but it needed more funding or something and I wish it had continued and followed the manga..

Yeah, towards the end...BECK's animation really crapped out. I was glad they animated Taira EXTREMELY well for his bass solos. They're addicting to listen to!

Perhaps I should spend money and get manga collecting again...how many volumes are out for BECK right now?

I have yet to watch the end of the anime. Waiting for the dub releases. Should be by the and of January.

The manga is good though. Thus far 11 volumes released soon.

I have read past that. It's really addicting.

The Beck manga is really good I've gotten up to Volume 21 or 22, and couldn't find more - this was a long time ago. I've watched all the Beck anime, and it just seems they lost funding because they rush the ending, it would have been amazing if they had continued the story.

Agreed. I am caught up to the scans.

It gets way good after London. Although it is slowly coming out which I should complain. I have already checked out the raws.

If you want to know where to get...*coughs* send me a PM.

I think I have watched 18 episodes of the Anime. Just need 6 more. Which is the last 2 dvds.

If you're only on episode 18...it's not until the 23rd episode, I think.

    Here you go, Bash:
    http://dl1.ffshrine.org/soundtracks...l Soundtrack - Beck/19_i've_got_a_feeling.mp3

It's the scene in manga (since you haven't seen it in the show yet) that Koyuki goes out on stage with Jewel's guitar to call out all the members because Ryusuke and Chiba were missing. :D
