Right, so l just lost my job.... via text. My bosses are such cowards. AND they still haven't paid us for the month of April. And they let a load of people go the week before, so now theres only 5 of us in the office to do all the work and we have a lot of projects (people just can't pay for them).

I know that the construction industry is hitting some hard times in this county at the moment and that this is happening all over the place, but i'm a little p**sed that they couldn't let me go to my face.

I think this might be the time to take my work abroad, i was thinking London might be the most realistic place. Time to get working on my CV i think.

Man, that sucks to hear man. I'd be right ticked as well, if they just did it via text message. Mad enough to march up their faces and ask why, honestly.

Taxes for driving through London, though I don't know if you'll be driving, always scare me when I hear about the congestion charge. Yikes!

Hahaha, very true. I got most of my sense of London taxes through Top Gear. But, that's a motoring program, and I love cars...so I couldn't imagine myself not driving through London and having to pay 35 pounds everyday to drive through it.

Are you going to try and stay in construction?

Imagine California with congestion charges... *shudders at the thought*

Kain, you haven't lived till you've cleared 100 mph. Sorry, but that's the honest truth.

    Heres to someday being alive.

Or 60mph EXITING an off-ramp on the freeway at 5-6k RPM, with a banked turn with a perfect heel-toe downshift right before the the corner into third gear into 7.5k RPM or so. Those are ALWAYS fun.

    High-revving engine FTMFW!

I drove my friend's S2000 this past weekend. I really want to see about getting one now, and trade my Civic in. It's just too fun to have a car like that with the top down, have a nice sunny day, and being in California and 9000rpm to keep you smiling like an idiot.

In any case, about congestion charges. The mayor of LA and the governator is actually thinking of proposing that a few of the more inundated freeways (605, 10, 101, some parts of the 210) near LA will have their carpool lanes changed to toll roads. Idiots. Why hurt people in carpool lanes, when they're already ridesharing? Why not try and target the SINGLE driver? This is quite close to London's own congestion...where you pay to sit in traffic jams. $75 of your own money, in order to take 2 hours to get across London. At least we've not yet sunk that low.

I also made moderator in 8thcivic.com, my Civic site. Responsibilities FTL. =P

Not if you sell your Civic.

Been a while since I've been on the California freeways. Cops still give tickets for going 95? I remember cruising in one of the middle lanes in my '95 Neon a few years back going about 85 and still getting passed on both sides.

I've tapped 98mph before, but I was just following flow of traffic and didn't realize I reached that speed. However, cops will pull you over anyway. I'd rather cruise at 80, no one gets caught doing that. I'm often at 75, considering gas prices.

I will probably still mod there, even if I get an S2000. Great bunch of guys there.

Yes, i'm in the office now printing some drawings, and the boss called us into a meeting and told us that he's going to merge the company with another one, and that i was welcome to keep my job as long as the other crowd say its ok, which it should be since i think theres only 5 of them in that office as well at the moment. Should also be getting paid at last on monday, so it looks like everythings worked itself out for the moment, although i'm still interested in going to london cause theres a friend of mine moving there in September.

Thats something i'm going to have to try. I'll just have to find a car with a speedometer with miles per hour instead of kilometers per hour, which is now the standard over here.

Reckless Driving I believe. VA has Reckless Driving at 20 mph over or 80+. Not so sure what California's is anymore.

Kain, that would be 161 Kph. Zoom zoom.

Perhaps we shouldn't be talking about reckless driving here? :D

This being said, this is what awaits me just outside my neighborhood:

    Canyon Run Heaven!

Well, actually, I'm really at the 39HWY, found on the far left. But, still, that road is there for the taking! Of course, it's also hounded by cops.

North Carolina has Deals Gap AKA "The Dragon":

East Coasters (all the way from the NE and as far as Florida) on the Civic board do a yearly meet there. I'm jealous. :(

Man, I wish I lived that close to the PCH. That in itself is a different type of drive...but gorgeous nonetheless. I will drive that if I do end up getting my S2000. LOL. Top down and just straight up until Santa Barbara.
