I've not figured out where this comes from though I've certainly never seen it before. It's Tomita in his studio (with the lights real low). He puts a tape in what looks like an original Sony TCD-D10 DAT recorder? Unfortunately it's a fairly early model so it could even be from the late 80s and doesn't help date the video too well as the studio is quite dark. I won't spoil the surprise of what song he plays.

I think this is Tomita back in 1969 (just audio from an album)

(seems more than a little influenced by "The Good, the bad, and the ugly")

    Hi All,
An online friend of mine said that in the video above, Tomita mentions that the pink noise source from the DAT is a recording from the constellation Aquila. This video might be from the Dawn Chorus time frame.

Well a little later since DAT only appeared in 1987.

many thanks for posting those videos

I have never seen before Tomita on video, only pictures

I wish there were more longer videos, maybe some interviews or footage from his famous concerts

Here is a TV profile and mini interview. They flash a 2005 date for something so it must be at least that new. That's a non-professional rollup keyboard he has. Since newer ones have MIDI it's probably attractive to him for being portable like his laptop.
I see a rare Moog scale programmer (the reddish wood box with 5 rows of knobs) in front of the Moog IIIp, so besides the little picture of him, that tends to confirm that that's one of his Moog's

from Expo 70, possibly the same track (since taken down) as before with an mp3 player app's visualization.
