    I picked up the uncut boxset and started watching it with my son. Yep he likes bleach...hehe

    Anyway remember way back in episode 1 how the hollow attacked Ichigo's family?

    Isshin Kurosaki, his father was gone.

    I was thinking about this because his father is a you know what? (Do I still need spoilers?)

    Why hadn't his father helped? His father should have been able to SENSE the hollow. Know the danger his family was in. He knew about what was going on with Aizen and Ichigo becoming a death god.

    His father regained it for revenge for his wife. His family in danger versus revenge. You would think he would want to protect his wonderful daughters.

    Your thoughts?

    As I recall it was explained, when we see Isshin as a Shinigami, his powers had only recently come back. From what I remember of the discussion between him and Urahara, his powers had been gone for a long time and it seemed like only a recent manifestation.

    I thought he got it back because of revenge. I was wondering why not when his family was in need?

    [shrug] I will think on this and have a better response later. Well..Maybe he knew or assumed what would happen in the future or knew a shinigami would take care of it! Or maybe he was passed out somewhere.

    There are quite a number of plotholes someone has pointed out to me in Bleach..Almost as many as Inuyasha's.

    Another example please?

    I doubt mangaka really think that far ahead. But shouldn't their editors know the series well enough?

    Probably because he either didn't happen to be home, and it was planned by the mangaka, or he (Isshin) figured that if he could sense a hollow, he could also sense a Shinigami.

    I'd figure the Shinigami are able to do their job, y'know? ^^;

    Or he probably also knew Ichigo was gonna get his powers then xD

    I can see that but...family endanger would you trust a soul reaper?

    It which reminds me of episode 8. When grand fisher was there and Ichigo's dad wasn't to far off.

    I think Seishin nailed it. There's a Shinigami in the house. He put away his Shinigami gear for a reason, and as long as there was a Shinigami around, not to mention someone in the powerful Kuchiki house, why not leave it in capable hands? Being a Shinigami himself, why wouldn't he trust their work? Same deal with episode 8. She's a regular member of the house, and his son has an explosive amount of energy, AND Ichigo has got as much right to that hollow as his Dad does, seeing as he witnessed the murder.
