Despite many advances, diarrhoeal diseases and the resulting dehydration are responsible for about 2.2 million child deaths every year world wide.

Deaths from Salmonella food poisoning: 1000/Yr in US

Child Mortality, 2003: SIDS, Suffocation, Poison, Drowning 4784 per year in US.

Common flu far more deadly than swine flu in U.S.- 36,000 deaths/yr from the Cold in US

Swine Flue Deaths in US TOTAL: 695 (most of which are in CA)

We've got other diseases and such to worry about. When the pandemic goes into overdrive, then we can start worrying. Until then, get a vaccination and worry about other things... like space aliens.

You think that we could cure this all by now but nope we build stuff to kill each other. Let's drive drunk while we are at it also.

I am still going to worry about swine flu and heart disease. I know I know whats out there but still I have a kid. I better worry. My son's sperm donor and grandfather has and had a heart disease. I take precautions for both like I said they wont stop my life. Like with his possible heart issue he gets checked every time he has his yearly or whatever it is doctor appointments.

Swine flu can mutate. So the vaccines might become useless or make it mutate. And I will wait for the shot until more people has tried it without issues. Guinea pigs. Matt knows my idea to the extreme if necessary. ;)

    Books?

I read the first book in the vampire diaries. But I like the TV show version better so far. To much fluff in the book. Read all 4 books of Twilight series. They were okay. Matt pointed out a series started to read it. So far 1st book. And a little ways into 2nd.

Finished the manga Bloody Monday. Recommend it because its dark like Death Note. A game of cat and mouse between a genius teenage hacker and a terrorist cell in japan with the stake of Japan on the line.

I need to write. But have to study.

Wowz. I wonder which one will be my demise? I think the ones I put in bold are some of the most likely since it runs in the family and all. :) But oh well, dumb people and chemicals in the world. Just killing us all mayn!

Sure, and HIV can mutate and become airborne too. What's your point? There's a lot of improbable things that could happen, but worrying about them accomplishes nothing more than ulcers.

Fact: Stephen King is almost as overrated as Anne Rice and that dumb Twilight *****.

You have forced a topic change and must now face the consequences.

...Wasn't King talking sh*t about twilight not too long ago? Made a comparison between Twilight and Potter, siding with Potter?

Thanks wert found the article. Nice. I see his point of how they are really for young girls. I hated the hot flashes. It was easy to read.

But with King his novels are very drawn out.

Now I found this new novelist KAM. She is awesome. Her stuff makes you want to keep on turning pages. And I can't guess what happens next.

Anyone see the trailer or heard about the movie Precious? Mariah Carey looks so different.

Stephen King, in spite of his abuse of manic writers as his main characters, has had good ideas but his actual writing and style is a brain sore. Not unlike Anne Rice, though with King it seems to come naturally. Rice forces it. Not to mention that Rice does NOT have good ideas.

Twilight person (as I now refuse to call her an author) is the bottom of the cesspool when it comes to writing comparisons. Abusing adjectives does not a novelist make you.

I think everyone has their own opinion but Twilight is boring and uncool compared to my dear "Queen of the Damned" in movie sense. I hate Twilight.
The one book I read out of the series was so boring that I just stopped reading it.

But on the subject of Stephen King. For once, I believe that something popular isn't overrated. He is probably the only famous writer who has the skill to have reason to be famous. I've got a collection of his books and I can say every single one of them - the less popular and the non-horror plots - have pleased me. You are correct on his rambling though but most readers who are experienced in the art of reading long books just skim and get straight to the point. He expands every detail on anything in his books and I find that really interesting.

I have to agree. I read the book IT from cover to cover and found it to be a pleasure to read despite it's length. I do enjoy King's imagery, and I find that he can create some pretty intriguing story-lines. Nightmares and Dreamscapes was another book that I enjoyed, as it was a collection of short stories that were varied and ranged from creepy and oddish to supernatural. I'm not entirely sure if just anyone can create a story about prime numbers and a finger poking out of the drain in your bathroom sink. Good flavor.

Stephen King very original that's what I like. But I didn't like everything by him. Thinner wasn't his usual flare. I wait for the movie. I like things drawn out but not that much.

Another good author is Michael Crichton. I like how he writes by what fear is going on or idea could happen. Tried reading Jurassic Park but to scientific for my taste.

Ah peachy we like to give you a hard time. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. I agree a few times with you but never say it.

I agree that hard core fans read Stephen King skim over it. Only way too. But I personally can't do that. I feel like I will miss out on something important. It's like those who separate the oreo to eat the cream first. They belong together and people who separate miss out. Let's not start with not dunking it in milk. So I watch King's movie. All the important parts are in there.

Nice vids user. And dancing. Sort of sad that cant hear some of the songs.

Started to watch a series called Lost Tapes. Wicked cool first encounters. Show gives information on creatures from the victims and lets the viewers decide what is real or not.
