I'd hate to break it to ya, That Guy, but the space shooter part kinda left me underwhelmed. I mean, it plays like a rail-style shooter, which is cool enough, I suppose, but I was hoping for something more along the lines of Free Space or Wing Commander. Instead, I got Star Fox. I was a little disappointed.

Still, SWTOR beta was fun, despite my previous apprehension. Though, I'm still looking forward to Guild Wars 2.

I've read that too just recently and watched some videos. I'm a fan of free roam space sims like Freelancer, Wing Commander Privateer and the X-Wing and Tie Fighter series. I'm still going to level up my space combat (if there is a system for that) in hopes of a space expansion down the road.

Also, Basher if you're looking for a RPG where you have more options to explore, mine work on professions and so on, then save and load whenever you have free time, I'd suggest Skyrim.

Oh god, don't get started on Skyrim. According to Steam I've sunken over 70 hours into it, and I haven't beaten it yet. I hated Oblivion, but Skyrim is phenomenal.

My 85 hunter is currently retired and enjoying her time with her other guildies.

Was server seventh or nineth on downing WotLK 10-man, 11/12 on the HC and lack one achievement for dat dragon.

    *sigh* Good times.

Now I am just enjoying my free time and playing too much Starcraft 2. Guess my BW-days never left me.

Well, we've really derailed the topic from WoW, haven't we?

There are ship upgrades you can buy to upgrade shields, missile count, etc. Honestly, anyone expecting a full-on space system for launch was dreaming. Unless the entire game was focused on that aspect, it just wouldn't be feasible to develop something that would require a full cycle on its own in addition to the main game. I think the rail shooter is fun, considering, but it's really just a distraction ala WoW bombing runs. A full on space combat/exploration system is more than likely somewhere on BioWare's "wall of crazy" (a board they have with all kinds of ideas they'd love to do in the future but couldn't implement for release) and would be something that would surely move an expansion in ways that islands of panda warriors can't.

Might have to give it a try. It looks gorgeous, but I just couldn't ever get the appeal of Oblivion.

If you enjoy world of warcraft or Mass Effect, Skyrim is akin to the both of them. Story driven, less grinding, a world that's open and fun to explore, all at the same time.

This how I feel playing Skyrim.

The Swedish Chef is an important NATIONAL HERO, SAINT, RULER, CONQUEROR of SWEDEN.

Aside from that, I just forced myself to finish Oblivion...before I head out with Skyrim.

Oblivion is a bit slow...but once you get the hang of it, you will probably like it.

Loathe the leveling up system though.
