Yes, I work for, quite possibly, the largest group of inept individuals I have ever seen in my entire life. Let me place down a blanket statement-

The U.S. Navy does everything completely backwards.

    Everything.

Case in point (and reason #1):

Someone in a division screws up... habitually. This person makes life miserable for everyone else time and time again. Most jobs would simply fire him, but in the Navy you're under contract, so you can't get fired. So they move onto the next best thing- Punishment.

Only... They don't punish the individual screwing life up, they punish everyone around him.

Now twenty years ago this was an effective tactic because the people who worked with the culprit would be able to take 'care' of him with a blanket party, or similar method, a la Full Metal Jacket. But in today's Navy, if we so much as look at him funny he can run off to the Equal Opportunity advisor, raise hell, and everyone's down sh*t river.

So punishing everyone else when the said individual doesn't care at all about the rest, is idiotic. However no one but us lowly bottom dwellers seems to realize that.

#2 (A more specific example): Parking is becoming a zoo in the mornings. They dont have enough spots to provide for everyone on the ship. The blueshirts have to fend for our own in an open lot while the higherups park in the gated lot. Everyday there's about 300 spots open in the gated lot, and zero open in the open lot.

So we have a problem, right? The logical thing to do would be to let a select few move from the open lot to the gated lot, opening up 150 - 200 spaces in the open lot, right?

    Wrong.

Rather than let people use the open spots in the gated lots, we're going to open up parking spaces by restricting people from parking in the open lot period.

Yeah, No joke. Now we need parking passes to park in the open lot and only a select few get them. Everyone else is simply out of luck. Rather than give us the open lots they simply attack the problem completley backwards and take away the number of cars that can actually park in the open lot.

Way to go guys. Navy ingenuity at its finest.

Someone put a bullet in me now.
