A CG girl's lament....

Now don't get me wrong, I love colorguard with all my heart (and maybe a little more), but sometimes I really have to think for a few minutes to remember why =P

First of all, shinsplints are *PAINFUL*. It's getting to the point that I need to rest while walking from class to class, and putting an eleven minute show on a field with a big cheesy smile while your muscles feel like they're being ripped apart inside your calves is no picnic =P

Then there's the schedule. At *least* two hours a day is devoted to it in some way or another, and usually more. I'll be up 'till 11 at a football game tomorrow night, leaving me with virtually no time to sleep for the PSAT the next morning, and I'll be going straight *from* the PSAT to a Saturday guard competition. If I'm pooped *now*, I can only imagine how I'll feel Saturday night.

Thirdly, having fifteen girls spend almost every waking moment together pretty much *guarantees* drama. Every little thing you say will come back to bite you in the arse at some point, and while I'm pretty good at avoiding stupid catfights, we *all* find ourselves in the middle of them at some point, whether we want to be or not. Comes with the territory =P

But then I remember how I felt when we took gold at state championships last year, or all those crazy nights spent "sinning" in Florida, and all those silly little in-jokes that nobody but us would find funny, and I realize that while it may rule my life, I wouldn't trade any of it for the world ^^
