This all started as a comment to Wert's entry... and quickly became a mass of confusion, rant, and... well I don't know.

hmmm.... if you follow what you believe in, if you follow your own values then you will not be corrupted by the evil that is the south.....
wait a minute... you just called where the deep south?!? Huh I live in the Backwards, Always fighting for last place with Mississippi, Eat, drink, and breath the bible, Curse the government if it even be the slightest bit "liberal", Change = the devil (unless it is backwards), Football is > than arts and education... and so on and so forth... state called Alabama. The only time this state is in the new is if something bad happens... and even then people forget it as soon as something bigger and more interesting comes along. But I digress, this is not for me to rant about issues involving the state in which I was born and raised. How is it that you are so afraid of being corrupted? I being at a methodist college in the center of this pathetic state... I having family that has stemmed from a little town called Eclectic... Surely I should be far more fearful of corruption than you. Then again I am not in the millitary... supressor of all things individual, breaker of the spirit. I'm sure that if I were more outspoken about my beliefs I would be damned right where I stand, spat upon and ousted as a dangerous and crazy liberal. I would become an untouchable.
All of the smart people like you, the say they want to leave the South. They hate how stupid all the people are, how backward, moronic. They run away, like rats escaping a sinking ship. I wonder if they're all afraid of becoming something they so despise... or maybe they're afraid of being swallowed up by the filthy waters, like the white people that all move away when ever a black family moves into a neighborhood. Maybe only idiots and dreamers stay in the hopes of some how making it better. All the smart people that can afford it leave.

Hypocrite Christians

We are all afriad of becoming something/someone we dispise.
hopefully all the intelligent people will start to overrun Al and MI and force it to change.
