Why does the most powerful shinobis in each village (or Kages) have names that is irrelevant to their village names? For example: The Konoha (or "Hidden Leaf") Village has the Hokage (or "Fire Shadow"). It should have a name like "Leaf Shadow" or something, right? Or the "Hidden Sand" Village has the Kazekage or "Wind Shadow".

Can anyone tell me why it's like that? :bleed2:

Actually, if anything, it's the village names that are out of whack. Each of the kages are named for the country in which the village is located. Hokage of Konoha, for example, is from the Fire Country. As far as the names of these villages go, the last lines of Hokage in episode 79 answers that question, or at least for Konoha.

I'll post if I want to. And there's nothing you can do about it.

Anyway, thanks to those who answered appropriately. If it's the villages that are wrong then why are they named that way?

maybe its because nobody who makes the manga actually cares if the village has a name appropriate to the hokage

maybe its just that the names sounded cool, (again, who really cares if they match up)

*points to his own previous post* I've found Hokage's last words in that episode (the one's I was talking about).

"Where the Konoha (leaves) dance, fire burns. The shadow of the fire will flash over the village, and the leaves will grow once again."

Sorry about that. I kinda over reacted. Probably because I lack sleep at that time. No hard feelings eh? *erase erase* :sweat2:

ah so its sort of like a phoenix comparison. That's very powerful. The village is full of very powerful families. It's very astounding.
