Saber Marionette A questions for thoes who have seen SMJ-X

    I should say, for thoes who have at least seen up to phase 05 in SMJ-X or know some thing about this. In phase 5, there seen where Blood berry, cherry and lime are playing tourist guides, blood berry has some sort of flash back, showing her in what I believe is her "body suit" standing on a table that had some people sitting around it, yelling and whirling a wood beam, much like she is going to kill some one. Then there is an overlaying image of some one who looks similar to a very peaceful looking Faust; perhaps blood berry has some past that no one knows about...

    I just got my DVD player today so I only had time to watch two episodes before now. (A huge no-prize for anyone on this board who can guess what episodes they were ^_~) and I must say I'm just as puzzled as you are.

    To me, though, it doesn't look like Faust's face but the face of the Statue in which Bloodberry was imprisoned. Perhaps she didn't like the idea of being put into a statue and resisted initially?

    Went and watched this episode again just for you, Ardis!

    Here's the exact sequence of the flashbacks:

    All three of the overlayed scenes are from the original SMJ series (conicidentally episode 5 as well...)

    -The first image is that of Bloodberry when she was first awakened

    -Number Two, where Bloodberry is whirling around the large blocks of wood, is when she is making advances on Castle J's rooftop against the three saber dolls

    -And the last, as Lady A would guess correct, is that of the statue that originally contained the red-haired vixen...

    I'm afraid I watched the particular scene over a few times, but couldn't see this mysterious "man" you referred too....:(

    As to why she experienced the flashback in the first place, my best guess is for dramatic foreshadowing... nobody who knows what happens later on spoil it for me, but I have guesses as to BB's future...

    Any more evidence to lay on the pile anybody?

    I don't know, i did see some thing that looked like it. I can't look at the DVDs right now due to being on a trip and i didn't bring my PS2 along with me. Who knows maybe my DVDs have some thing not on others. I know another person who also saw it, said that towards the end of the flash back, there was a image of a man, one who looked like faust. and if i can i will get my digital camera and get a photo of it and post it here.

    And now Baka sheepishly retracts his previous statements...

    Alright, I guess last time I went too quick...

    There Are rather 2 scenes than the 3 I mentioned...

    The first is Bloodberry in some sort of room in Japoness...She's dressed as if she had just been awakened (or activated?), ready to kill a man only partly shown on screen in the bottom corner...

    The second is the overlay of herself screaming and the statue she was sleeping in until Otaru awakened her.

    As the pieces would suggest, the scene following Cherry's observation that all three had only been awakened by Otaru, it would seem that another person in the past had done so. Something happened to cause Bloodberry to burst into a fit of rage, and the Japoness somehow managed to overcome her, sealing her in the Nioh Statue...

    It seems she does have a past that hasn't been revelaed...at least not as far as I've seen...
