My dingy old Neon decided to give up on me so I went ahead and purchased a new vechicle. This time I actually put some money towards it, so now I own a '01 Toyota Solara (a Camry with little different body). It's a V6, which means it's got a great deal more pickup than the old 4 banger I had before. This one is an automatic, which is one of the few things I don't like about it. I miss driving standard, which was one reason why I kept my Neon for so long.

The good news is that it's a Toyota so it'll last forever if I take good care of it, and the mileage is awesome, even for a V6. I got custom plates (something I'm very proud of) and they read FTN-CV70. XD I'm sure that will piss off quite a few toolbags at work, but hey, if the state gives me the thumbs up then legally there's nothing they can do.

    Pwned!

I also (finally) went ahead and splurged on a new tablet. The first image I worked on was mostly done with a mouse so, it doesn't look as good as it could have, but that's fine. The next one will turn out better (I hope). I went priceshopping around looking for the best buy I could find. BestBuy (ironically) had none, so I went to Comp USA. They had one, but wanted almost $400 for it, so I said I would sleep on it. I went to Circuit City, skeptical that they would have anything either, but was pleasantly surprised when they showed me the only one they had as well. It was a little smaller than the one at Comp USA, but it was also half the price. Happy with this one (and the price tag) I went to the register to purchase it. The woman scanned it and charged it to my card. As I'm signing the reciept, I realize that she only charged me $100, vice $200. Not questioning anything at all I take my prize and leave the store a happy man. I got it for a quarter of the price Comp USA wanted, albeit it was a little smaller, and it suits me just fine.

    Take that Over Priced Retailers!!

That said it rained cats and dogs yesterday as well. Ever seen Big Fish, and his dad is driving through the rain and it looks like buckets being poured on the windshield? Well, that's pretty much what it was like. I've never hydroplaned before... Imagine my surprise when I'm doing at 30 mph.

"Hey... why the hell am I drifting? I didn't- Oh Sh*t!"

I got home alright though. Rather anti-Climatic, I know, but that's the way I like it.

how good are the tires on your car?

I had my car in the dealer/shop getting fixed all week last week. They didn't even fix my original problem, as they handed me back the car wednesday. it reeked like nail polish.. the damn alternator went and it had to be towed a few hours after they gave it back to me too.. got it back Saturday.. all seems to be fine now.. but it feels different somehow..

I thought neons were pretty craptastic cars, but it seemed to do well for you for a while?
