Now here's a beautiful DVD... with loads of really cool extras. Then there's the fact that the movie itself just FRIGGIN' RULES! Let's start with the case, first there's this lovely slip cover... oooh... shiny... ahem... with a very nice picture of Beldandy on the front. The case itself is somewhat translucent, so when you open it, you get a nice look at the inside of the label, which is actually *another* nice picture of Beldandy. The DVD actually comes with a pencil board inside... with pictures of Beldandy on one side, and Urd, Skuld and Peorth on the other. The insert has short character sketches and info in it.. all this and the DVD hasn't even been played yet!
Playback is beautiful, with a nice audio track, and, as is typical of me, I won't suggest the dub, no matter how good other people say it is. Scene access is very thorough, there's a lot of chapters. Extras on the disk? Episode 1 of Adventures of the Mini-Goddesses, 2 commercials, the teaser trailer and Theatrical trailer of the Movie, all in their original japanese, with nothing imposed over the top. The Mini-Goddesses episode even has credits in the original japanese only format, then the english credits on a separate rolling. Very nice.
Menus are easy on the eyes, and easy to use, pretty music plays in the background as feathers float down the length of the main screen. The others? well... ok I don't recall at the moment, I'm not a pro at reviews.
All said, I'm very glad I bought this DVD.

I just got this...two days ago. I've watched in since then on both audio tracks. What's great is the fact that it fully supports Dolby Digital 5.1, so pumping in lots of volume on a home theater system just ups the experience. If your TV or whatever doesn't support it (my laptop DEFINITELY doesn't) and you still want to hear all the sounds (5.1 takes away a few layers of sound I think) it also comes in Dolby 2-channel audio for both tracks.

The english sub was okay, but I had to kind of force myself to believe that K1 was a college student.

The Japanese, however, was (of course) amazing! Like, total awe and everything. Bell sounded awesome, even though it was "standard anime all around nice girl" voice. Too perfect, but she's a goddess...so that's expected.

I think a real plus, even though demoted heavily, is that benpei is in the movie. He wasn't even touched in the series, but he at least makes an appearance in the film.

The artwork was great too, another reason to get the movie. Smooth and heavy attention to detail. I just love the dual motorcycle thing going on...pretty cutesy way to say "I'm close and trust you, Bell"...but it SEEMS fun.

All in all...GOOD STUFF. REALLY GOOD STUFF. :D Oh...Gan rocks!
