    Summary
Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon is an anime about a klutzy, crybaby, 14 years old junior high school girl named Usagi. She receives special powers from a talking cat named Luna. Her Powers help her in her quest to fight evil and to find the "Moon Princess". With a locket Luna gave her, Usagi turns into the sailor suited "pretty soldier", Sailormoon. Over time, she discovers the Sailor Senshi of the inner planets and another cat Artemis, who join her as a team, called the Sailor Senshi.

She also runs into this guy named Mamoru and this capped super hero named Tuxedo Kamen. Coincidentally enough, they happen to be the same person. Tuxedo Kamen appears constantly to save the Sailor Senshi from the generals of the Dark Kingdom who, at first, begin stealing life energy out of people, then attempt to acquire the Imperium Ginzuishou. At this point Sailormoon learns about the Moon Kingdom and her past life.

A thousand years ago, the Moon Kingdom existed and the universe was at peace. The Moon Kingdom was ruled by Queen Serenity, until the evil forces from the Dark Kingdom decided to try and take over our universe. Queen Serenity was able to repel the invasion, but only by sacrificing herself and sending all of her court and the Ginzuishou to the future on Earth.

This is important because much to everyone's surprise we discover that Usagi is the reincarnation of the Moon Princess, Princess Serenity in addition to just being Sailormoon. It also turns out that the Sailor Senshi are reincarnations of the guardians of the Moon Kingdom, and that Mamoru is a reincarnation of Prince Endymion, who was to marry Princess Serenity. This adds a bit of romance to the series, but in the end, the Sailor Senshi and Tuxedo Kamen are able to use the Ginzuishou to annihilate the Dark Kingdom, but at the cost of their own lives.

    Sailormoon Manga
There are a total of 52 acts in 18 tankubon (volumes) covering five different story arcs. There are also many special stories that don't count as acts and don't fit into the storyline in any important way. These include the "Chibi-usa's Picture Diary" series (four stories total); the Inner Senshi special stories in the Dream arc (three total); "Casablanca Memories" focusing on Rei from the first series (later reprinted in tankubon 11); tankubon 11 with "The Lover of Princess Kaguya"; and the special parody story in the Materials Collection artbook called "Parallel Moon" which focuses on the children of the Inner Senshi- Kousagi, Mina, Mako, Rei, and Ami- and their transformation into Sailor Senshi.

    Codename wa Sailor V
Codename wa Sailor V is about Minako and her life as Sailorvenus, or rather, Sailor V. There are three tankubon covering this series. Sailor V started off as a short story in Nakayoshi and was actually created before Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon. Several months after its debut, the Sailormoon series started, and Sailor V later became an actual series. It was because of Sailor V that Takeuchi-san created Sailormoon.
