Stealing the energy of everyday people, the evil organization called the Dark Kingdom, set on global domination, has begun its assault on society. Meanwhile, the second year Juuban Junior High School ditz, Tsukino Usagi, unexpectedly encounters a talking stuffed toy cat, Luna, who gives her the power to transform into the pretty soldier Sailormoon. Although she must protect the Earth, being as stupid and rash as she is, the young heroine refuses to fight. Eventually she discovers the other senshi, Sailormercury, Sailormars, Sailorjupiter, and Sailorvenus, who give her the motivation to fight on. Soon it is revealed that Sailormoon is the Princess that Luna was in search of, whom is also being sought after by the enemy. As for Usagi, she must contend with the many dilemmas brought upon her as a sailor senshi in addition to those of being a normal junior high school student (studying, diets, love, and even singing at Crown Karaoke Bar). Although having an easy life, Usagi and Luna have reluctantly entered the chain of events that will shake the destiny of the Earth. As for the senshi's obstacles in their mission, not only against the evil Dark Kingdom, a mysterious man named Tuxedo Kamen is searching for the answer to the question of his existance. It's a fight with the Dark Kingdom to get the Mystical Silver Crystal, but the crystal's appearance and powers remain unknown.
