Acceptance

This actually happened the 14th, a few days ago, but I never got around to mentioning it here.

My parents are coming down here in about two weeks; well, my dad was in Milwaulkee (he travels a lot for work), and had me on AIM asking me about my break so far. He mentioned how much he and mom were looking forward to coming down for the musical, and, one thing led to another, and I came out about my asexuality. His exact words were:

[name omitted]: you are you
[name omitted]: and that is all I want you to be
[name omitted]: I do not care "what" you are just that you are...you know?
[name omitted]: I want you to be true to yourself...not be someone else for anyone elses sake
[name omitted]: I just want you to be happy with whatever you do
[name omitted]: so do not sweat it

I know, I'm being all sappy and sentimental and crap, but... I'm bloody happy, dammit! My dad accepts me for who I am, and that's much cause for much celebration on my part.
