I just rediscovered the greatness of Ace of Base, and I wondered if anyone else out there liked them. I've not heard the De Capo album, but even so, I love every song they've written that I've heard. Anyone the same way, and if not, do you at least have favorites?

Ace of Base was one of Swedens biggest pop bands, sadly I never listen to them :D

Anyhow, their popularity is rather small nowadays, the only thing that gives them somewhat popularity is just annoying gossip magazines.

I used to have AoB's The Sign CD (it's lost somewhere in my pile of CDs) and I still have The Bridge. I also remember the cover AoB did of Bananarama's "Cruel Summer". *sigh* Nostalgia...

I still like Ace of Base, to tell you the truth. I wish I knew what happened to my Sign CD, though, because I liked that one better than The Bridge. Bridge has its moments, though. It was inevitable that they would go out of style eventually -- it happens so often nowadays that it's insane. But AoB actually had talent, I think, while a lot of singers nowadays that don't are still popular and have been for WAY too long. :p

    Favorite songs:

    SIGN:
    Happy Nation
Wheel of Fortune (if I remember correctly, this was the song with my favorite lyric ever -- "Tastes like steel like a stab from a knife". :) )
    Young and Proud
    My Mind (Mindless Mix)
    Waiting for Magic

    BRIDGE:
    Wave-wet Sand
    Experience Pearls
    Que Sera
    Just n' Image

I can honestly say that I hated literally every song by them I ever heard. I'm not going to rant this time, though. Count yourselves lucky.

i'm gonna have to agree with novus on this one. i think ace of base are the worst thing to come out of sweden since abba. and it's a shame, cause there's some great stuff there, like the flowerkings, kaipa, ritual etc.
i think ace base were trying to be the next abba, like oasis were trying to be the next beatles.
